Not worth it, the shako's are everything. Then again, if you only did use tricornes, the officers that you get in every set would finally come in use. But no, I don't follow dates very specifically with my LEGO.

For My pirate sets, I like anywhere from 1700 to the end of the Napleonic Wars.  :cannon: :bonaparte:  I don't really like pirate ships, though Imperial stuff I go crazy for.

If I build American ships they tend to be War of 1812ish, If I build Brits and pirates they tend to be Golden Age. My forts can range from Early Spanish to American Civil War though, and I just destroyed a bunch of confederate blockade runners I build a while back... So some times I build in the early steam age.
