Great Grandfather Lloyd stood there, in the middle of the temple, among his family.
He was wondering if his vision was just an evil dream.
Surely no member of his family was a Mutineer.
He felt kind of guilty for keeping his family locked up in the temple.
His family didn't mind though.
It appeared they quite enjoyed themselves.

Posted Image

Yasuko was consoling Hanako: 'Honey you look nothing like a man, you're a beautiful woman.'
Repeat after me: 'I am Yasuko and I am a beautiful woman.'
Yasuko kept sobbing while the kids were playing with Lloyd jr's stuffed toy.

Posted Image

Kenta was hunting down the free range chicken for his new fish free sushi role.
Tadao en Akio were showing the others their wedding pictures they took in Amsterdam.

Posted Image

The four brothers were discussing business while enjoying a nice cup of herbal tea.

Posted Image

Yoshiko was wondering if the brown thing in front of her was a frog of a turd.
Manga looked bored as usual.
And Lizzy was eating a frozen steak.

Posted Image

All of a sudden a delivery man walked in.
Someone shouted: 'How the hell did he get in if we are supposed to be locked inside.'
The deliveryman didn't respond and walked straight towards Great Grandfather Lloyd.

'Special delivery for Mr Great Grandfather Lloyd.'

Posted Image

Inside the package was a golden lamp.
Great Grandfather Lloyd was terrified and at the same time he had never been so curious in his entire life.
Knowing he would probably regret it, he rubbed the lamp.

Posted Image

Posted Image
Posted Image

Within a matter of seconds he was surrounded by 5 magical genies.
Then he fainted...

Posted Image

After a while one of the genies thought it would be fun to poke Great Grandfather Lloyd with a stick.
That way they could also see if he was still alive or if he had died of a hart attack.

Posted Image

After several minutes Great Grandpa Lloyd woke up.
His first vision came through.
That meant his second vision would eventually happen too.

'Dear Yakuza Family,'he spoke, 'From now on I want you to vote for one member of our family a day.'
'The one who you think is a Mutineer.'
'We must find them all and destroy them, before they destroy us.'

Let the games begin!

Genies? Visions? Grandfather, what's happening? We need to vote off one person a day because you had a vision that someone is trying to bring down our family? Where do we start?

I'm going to need some more herbal tea... :sceptic:

Please excuse me for pointing that out, Father, but... are you quite sure we don't mind? I am an aging man too, you know, and while I may not dream of mermaids like you do since I have my loving wife by my side, I would still very much like to have the freedom to be able to enjoy my days for as long as I still can.

So, you say, we now need to "vote off"... some mutineers who are presumably bad... The Yakuza clan is in danger of perishing... And there's 32 of us locked in a temple with no plausible explanation... all of that, based on just a dream!? What type of mushrooms exactly did you have for dinner, dear Dad?

Ah, well children. It seems we're left to our own devices. Which, as we Yakuza know, are quite numerous.

Oh wise Grandfather Lloyd, why did you not get any wishes? You could have wised all the mutineers dead!  :sadnew:
But, it seems we must see this out... So let's be quick because I don't have enough food reserves to feed all of you.  :sceptic:

Looks like we're going to have to do this the messy way: lynch mob. :sceptic:

No, wait, I already knew that. I'm not stupid enough to think that this situation wouldn't end up this way, like so many situations before it. Evidently, the situation is messing with my head, because I have the urge to scold myself for 'metagaming', as if this situation were a game.  :look:

So, I suppose I'll just go ahead and give another typical response: Let's catch those Scum! How dare they plot against us! Anybody got any leads?

I'd like to call attention to this statement made while we were gathering together. It's not much, but it seemed slightly suspicious:

Guys, I might be there at the start, but not for the night( GMT) so don't point the finger of suspicion at me.
It would have been more than sufficient for Yasu to merely state that he'd be offline asleep during part of the Day. However, he goes beyond that to tell us not to suspect him. There are lots who aren't that active during some parts of the Day in these situations. It seems to me that Yasu is trying very hard to make sure that there's nothing we can accuse him of, to the point of telling us that there's no reason to suspect him before anyone has suspected him for a reason that's not that suspicious at this point in the situation.
Just thought I'd throw that out there since that statement stood out to me.

Finding these Mutineers and kill them? Bah! If they had any honor, they would throw themselves on swords for even THINKING of dishonoring the family.

If you Mutineers come out now, you'll get off easy with a quick death and a spanking!

I suppose that, technically, I shouldn't use it as evidence of scumminess, but my character is, technically, aware of what was said I was around when it was said and I was in this building. Either way, I think it's something to consider when the time to vote comes.

Father, I do indeed worry for your health. You have never worn a belt in your life, nor is belt beating the way a true Yakuza would earn respect - you have taught me that yourself, don't you remember - "Words can hit harder than any katana".

Besides, I can not bring myself to really believe that vision of yours. For years I have taught my sons to stand united, even if their paths might seem to lead them away from each other. I do not believe my boys would ever betray me - or their Grandfather... So what evil could it be that you have seen in store for us? Who could it be that wants to see our powerful clan destroyed?

For now, I shall stand back and observe, as I've done my whole life. The middle path seems to be covered in darkness today, but together we will find our way.

Actually, that's why there isn't supposed to be any action "outside this building" as it were.  It's explicitly stated in the conditions of our situation.  So, if that's the reason to make a first day lynch, it's fair.

I'm sure today, like other days, there will be lots of voting and unvoting before we figure things out.

For me, I've got some work to do, scrubbing and cleaning the nooks and crannies of this place.

Well. Genies. That's certainly not something I was expecting to see today. Or ever, really. I suppose that lends credence to great-great-grandfather Lloyd's visions though.
Lynching each other doesn't seem like much of a plan, but in this situation I suppose that's just how it's going to be. I do agree that Yasu's pre-emptive defence as we were all gathering is suspicious, but maybe she's just a paranoid narcoleptic. Still, not the smartest thing to do - drawing suspicion on yourself before we even had a reason to be suspicious of anyone.

That statement stood out to me, too, Emi. Why would she be so scared of the FoS? :look: Now, Yasu is a bit of a noob inexperienced when it comes to our hectic family gatherings, so it makes sense that she'd be scared of suspicion (I was when I was new to these gatherings) but still, that does look suspicious. I remember a Pie-maker in a certain comic book who asked at one point for people not to vote for him or accuse him or anything since he was going to be busy baking pies that day, and it turned out he was scum. He was obviously expecting to be voted for, and since the scum know that they're evil, they figure that they'll eventually get voted for or accused.

Like Yasu said, she's sleeping right now, but when she wakes up, I'm sure we'd all love an explanation of her strange fear of the FoS.

Too much herbal tea, perhaps?

Anyways, with so many people it might be difficult to root out the Mutineers. Keeping track of everyone's names is enough (oh yes, I love you all so much   ), so we'll have to be extra vigilant today and until we are successful.

Yasu's ways have always been a mystery to many of us, even after she joined our family. I, for one, have on many occasions wondered whether it was her who actually built her rice-churning empire, or was that all a consequence of my grandson Minoru's incredible negotiating skills... In any case, it brings me joy to see that they both enjoy a life of plenty, but I still wonder whether all those donations aren't actually meant to compensate for something.

Compensating? You are one to talk...
Yasu's strange statement is indeed something we should be concerned about. There is of course the possibility that it was said out of eagerness, but it remains to be seen, I look forward to Yasu's explanation.

Compensating? You are one to talk...
Chieko!?! Is that the way to talk to your husband, after I promised to take you to an ocean cruise around the world once I retire from business? Your words make me sad, my darling. :cry_sad:

Lynching is very uncivilized, but if this is the way Grandfather wants it, I will be obedient.  Mutineers, you are most unwelcome here.

Unfortunately, we only get one unvote per day. :sceptic: It looks like we're going to have to be careful when placing our votes today.
Aw kuso!  That's the crappiest, anti-town rule in the book.  It was introduced by one of Father's elders in order to 'spur action', and has never worked, which is why he took it out his last time around.  It's a shame Father has chosen to adopt it this time around.  It makes days much more conservative and dull, since nobody wants to waste their vote by getting it locked.  It also helps scum, since they can waste their vote by getting it locked, and have a convenient excuse as to why they wasted it. :wall:

Not a fan of that vote, and I would be really impressed if Amaterasu (aka, God) were to strike it from the rulebooks before we got the voting started, realizing how much it hurts the momentum of the game

One thing to note:  apparently it's 'the player with the most votes' who gets lynched, so a majority doesn't have to be reached. :look:

Actually, that's why there isn't supposed to be any action "outside this building" as it were.  It's explicitly stated in the conditions of our situation.  So, if that's the reason to make a first day lynch, it's fair.
We'll be lucky to get anything more concrete than this on day one, but stranger things have happened!  I too will look forward to what Yasu has to say today.

Oh Nobuo, you have promised me that for years now, I have begun to fear it will never happen, are our sons really up to take over the family?

I'm not looking forward to this.  :sceptic:

I am rather distressed that part of my family could possibly be trying to break this family apart. It's sad that we're forced to vote off our kin, but it's unfortunately the only way we can manage it. We must obey our grandfather, something I am honored to do.

Emi's made a valid, but vague note, and we have the usual Damn Those Scum statements going on. I'd say let's get down to it, but there's not much to get down to other than the utmost detailed analyses of what everyone's saying.

Don't flail your tongues too hard, muties. :sweet:

Like Yasu said, she's sleeping right now, but when she wakes up, I'm sure we'd all love an explanation of her strange fear of the FoS.
Ah, yes, that's something else I forgot to note: Townies shouldn't be afraid of suspicion. If they just be themselves, they'll most likely appear Townie since they are Townie. They should know that suspicion is the only way to root out the Scum and realize that true Townies initially suspect everyone other than themselves. (unless god specifically tells them that they can trust someone else, of course) They should expect to be suspected and realize that there is no reason for them to fear suspicion. They don't need to try to act in a way that avoids suspicion. If they need to try to act innocent, they're guilty.

Yasu's strange statement is indeed something we should be concerned about. There is of course the possibility that it was said out of eagerness, but it remains to be seen, I look forward to Yasu's explanation.
It doesn't seem that way to me. Were it said out of eagerness, it would be something along the lines of 'Woohoo! I'm so excited* that we're finally starting. I'm going to be offline asleep from <time> to <time>, but after that, I'm ready to go kill some Scum!'

*Excited to start being a lynch mob? As if this were some sort of game.
