This is the second ebay auction I have come across today, featuring the batman figure from the catwoman chase set, for almost the price of the set itself.

http://www.ebay.com/...b6#ht_500wt_715

I don't know about everywhere else, but my walmart has a plentiful supply of these. any idea why they are selling so well on ebay right now?

That's quiet strange... I've seen the Catwoman set everywhere! Maybe I should pick one up just to sell the figures...

Unfortunately I only want the set FOR the figs.

I've seen cat woman with her bike going for about the same.

It's not restricted to just this figure or indeed this theme. Ive seen the funhouse being bought for £60 + shipping and many people are buying the sets above rrp on ebay, amazon etc. Its mad. Tempting to follow suit though.....

What do you think the reasoning is for people spending so much on sets? I know the fun house is a little hard to find, but I've still seen a decent amount of them at stores.

Easy, fear of missing out from the last time.....Lego canned it and then the market for it went crazy !

True that, but these sets just came out! They'll be around for at least another 6 months at least.

:hmpf:

I could understand as soon as the sets start disappearing or even April, but January? I was hoping to get an extra of Poison Ivy's hairpiece of off bricklink to cut up and use for a Batgirl, good thing I decided it was too bright. I could only imagine how much her hair along will cost. :hmpf_bad: Guess I'm using Molly Weasley's hair...and buying a whole extra Catwoman set rather than just buy an extra Catwoman. :sadnew:

I'm really worried  we won't get all the sets in Holland. Just like the last Batman sets which weren't readily available overhere...
You don't get it boy, this isn't a mudhole. It's an operating table. And I'm the surgeon.

I read this thread on Friday but didn't think of it much as I had visited my local Walmart on Wednesday. I went back to Walmart yesterday to pick up some groceries and the dozen Batman/Catwoman sets I saw on Wednesday are now all gone! These guys are flying off the shelves fast!

Just looking at a seller parting out the Superman set. He got £15 each for Wonder Woman and Superman. Current bids on the actual set minus figs is £11. So far he is at least £21 in profit going by rrp and I don't know how much he may also be making on shipping.

Saw another seller getting £20(each) for Two face and black batman. Absolutely mental!

Luckily I live in a pretty small town, so they don't go QUITE as fast. I'll prolly swing by this week and grab a few more before its to late. I just need to figure out where to snag teh fun house though... =/

Be interesting to see what prices the Marvel figures which have never been released before get in April

Plus how do Ebayers get away with describing an item as Brand new unopened when you have to go into the set, open the bags and assemble the figure?

They get away with listing it as that because it is obvious it is not in the original packaging and means the same thing as "Opened and pulled out of package" to anyone whom thinks about it for a second.

My English teacher must have failed me......

Not entirely sure who are the buyers paying these extortionate prices and if they are as informed as they might be. I know the Catwoman and Superman sets are appealing to those who like to split up sets due to their low price v figure ratio but Lego shop still has them as do most online stockists.

I do understand the pricing going on with the Funhouse and its related figures as the set will be gold dust in the aftermarket
