This set is gonna be exclusive to Target stores in the US, as seen in the recent reset of their Lego isle, its on a piece of display along with the N-1 fighter with the "Only @ Target" logo.

I just noticed the lack of Republic detail? The symbol on the front of the right wing and the duel symbols on the back? Where this present in ROTS? I can't imagine they were removed that quick because of the newly declared Empire

There is an Open Circle fleet circle on the cockpit canopy. It's small, but definitely there.

They are trying to mimic anakin's red eyes when he was immerssed in the dark side.

Really looking forward to getting this set. I think I am defiantly going to get multiple copies so I can swap the colours from my old interceptors onto nice new beefier versions

This set should really be named Darth Vader's Sith Interceptor. Why would lego name it Anakin's?

Maybe he got it before turning to the dark side :D.
Top 10 Star Wars sets in my opinion:

2. UCS Imperial Shuttle
3. Sandcrawler
4. Trade Federation MTT
5. Republic Attack Gunship
6. Jabba's Sail Barge
7. Death Star II
8. Death Star
9. Anakin's and Sebulba's podracers
10. Jabba's Palace(NEW 2012)

There's also the fact that a lot of kids would surely associate the name Darth Vader with the fully armored Darth Vader from the original trilogy, rather than with the still human-looking Anakin, even after he joins Palpatine and receives his Sith name. If a kid (even one who had seen the prequel trilogy) were shown the new Anakin Skywalker minifigure, I think they would identify it as Anakin rather than Darth Vader.

I would identify it as Anakin rather than Darth Vader.  It doesn't matter anyway, as they're the same person (from a certain point of view)

In addition to the reasons above, there's also the fact that 'Vader's Interceptor' refers to something else.

Still at the point in the movie he is Darth Vader. I just dont like how Lego tries to make them two different charactors. Darth Vader only being the guy in the suit, this set could have easy been called Darth Vader's Interceptor as technically it is his and he is Darth Vader. Also I see your wookiepedia post and raise it this one http://starwars.wiki...ght_interceptor In reality he is appointed Darth Vader a little more then half way through the movie.

..Or they recognize that the two characters are one and the same and thus use whichever name the audience will most likely identify the character by, regardless of whether Anakin has gotten his Sith name by that point in the movie or not.

It's true, Darth Vader would probably apply better, but that doesn't mean that the name Anakin no longer applies to the character by this point. And since people (especially kids) are likely to associate the name "Darth Vader" with the guy in the black suit, and won't necessarily understand that the two identities are more a matter of moral alignment than of appearance, TLG uses the name that buyers will be more likely to associate with the minifigure in the set.

This won't be a purchase for me.  It's a prequel set, and while I do like the concept of the set the only thing I want is Nute.  I'm disappointed in the torso printing though, maybe I only need his head/headpiece.  We'll see how my Bricklinking fares.

Thanks for the review!

LEGO puts so much effort in details and yet they gave Gunray a totaly wrong shaped hat.
It' not that big of a deal, but this move is kinda lazy if you ask me.
They just repainted the old hat from CW gunray.

Hasn't anyone noticed this?

Yes people have noticed and pointed it out, ever since we got the first prelims of this set. There's so much nice, new things about this set the wrong hat is a mini inconvenience.
