The Iceberg Lounge is closed for the night, and The Penguin is taking this opportunity to discuss business with Maximilian Zeus in his office. We are looking for 24 players to portray some of the Batman franchise’s most evil and best loved villains. These are: - Baby Doll - Bane - Black Mask - Calendar Man - Catwoman - Clayface - Deadshot - Egghead - Harley Quinn - Hush - Killer Croc - Man-Bat - Mr Freeze - Mr Zsasz - Poison Ivy - Ra’s Al Ghul - Simon The Pieman - The Creeper - The Mad Hatter - The Music Meister - The Riddler - The Scarecrow - The Ventriloquist - Two-Face With these characters being somewhat unusual in that they exist outside of the game, some other special rules have been put in place… Players are expected to fully take on their roles in order to make the game more enjoyable and a more realistic expansion of the Batman Universe. This means that they will be expected to know how to act, behave and present their posts in the style of their assigned character. However, players should not take this to the level where the character they’re playing influences the way they play and the decisions they make. Because you play as super villains, you all effectively have super powers at your disposal. All players will have both an Action and a Skill, all of which are active and must be played during the night. There are no passive powers, so none will be played automatically. To make the selection process a little more interesting, potential players have the chance to ‘audition’ for the character they would like to play in-game. This will allow you to show off how well you would fit your chosen role and give us a good idea who will make the game fun, while keeping closely to the theme. Sign-ups must include the following information: - Your chosen character - Your availability during the coming few weeks - Your previous Mafia game history - Your existing interest in the Batman universe Because applicants will be choosing a particular villain to represent, only one sign-up for each character will be successful. If you are unsuccessful in trying for your chosen character, you will not be allowed to play as another character, unless that character has no other applicants, in which case the most suitable declined participant will fill the gap. Reserves will be kept to cover for players that drop out. Please post your responses in the style of your chosen character in this thread. I am available easily up to Christmas and beyond. I sadly missed out on the Batman theme, but regretted it wholeheartedly. I have a great interest in Batman, and would say my faveroute villian is now Scarecrow (who I'd love to play in this game! ) , as I love the whole fear theme. My favorite era is the Neal Adams 70's period, followed by the original Miller Dark Knight Returns, and next the Grant Morrison stuff, including the excellent Batman and Robin he did last year. As for a character, I like the Creeper, or Two-Face. The Creeper is not so much a bad guy though, and I like being the hero of the game. HA HA HA! sok117 Posted November 3, 2011 (edited) Hello, my name is sok117, and I will be auditioning for the role of The Riddler. *ahem* What is a riddle to me if nothing more then to see the Dark Knight fail. Obviously my intellect is far greater then the caped crusaders, however cheating has always been his forte. So riddle me this, how does one defeat the batman? Well that is a mystery isn't it! However, I have yet to find a riddle I couldn't answer, a puzzle I couldn't solve, or a brain teaser that was too hard. The simlpe answer remains a secret I'm willing to share with no one, I don't want anyone to steal my thunder, and beat me too the victory. No, that wouldn't be fair at all, stealing my answers and taking credit fo them. Whats that? You think I don't know the answer? Thats proposterous! I am the Riddler! I know all the answers! You bumbling neanderthals wouldn't know a genius if he was standing right in front of you! Thank's for the oppurtunity and I hope I get to play!!! I should be free for the next two months And I love the batman theme, I have the Batmobile and the Bat-copter, and I'm most likely going to get the whole new line-up And I've played in several mafia games before! This is a mafia game after all, and not an RPG. This aspect is just a bit of fun and is my attempt to prevent comments like 'all mafia games are played the same and end up becoming indistinguishable'. The audition doesn't affect your chances of entry too much, but does demonstrate your knowledge of your chosen character, and also lets me see your ability to write properly. I'm almost as serious as Hinckley when it comes to spelling and grammar, and I see there's definitely room for improvement with some of you! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I say Batman, I really mean Robin. When I was about 5 my mum made me a Robin cape and I wouldn't answer to my real name, I wanted to be known as Robin! I have many Batman graphic novels and enjoyed playing Arkham Asylum and its current sequel. I really love the two Nolan films for their more realistic portrayal compared to the previous films. I may well use Arnold for a bit of inspiration as Freeze though. His one-liners were so bad, they were good! editFlitwick, you took The Ventriloquist! Awesome. While I'm not particularly fond of Victor because of his psychotic tendencies. I am sure I can pull off his character. The next few weeks I will have time to get on for a few hours and play. Badboytje88's recent mafia school. I have played Arkham Asylum and Arkham City and have watched some Batman cartoons when I was younger. I have also seen both of Christopher Nolans' excellent movies. I haven't read any comics though. Anyway, auditioning time! So what's the bat up to now? Probably laying in wait while we villains pick each other off, the fool. He thinks he can hide but I have a special spot for his mark. My flesh shall sing as I cut into it, with the full satisfaction of seeing him dead and writhing. Cutting so deep into his body and making my mark. So close I can feel it. I know your there Batman! Come out come out wherever you are!! In the mean time I shall make do with these pathetic lumps of flesh, they will be glad when I free them. They shall know the ecstasy! Twenty-three more marks until you Batman, twenty-three... I played Eurodina, Bloodbricks, Werewolf, Belville, Baritones 3 and Bloodbricks 2. I played town and was killed at night every time. - Your existing interest in the Batman universe Batman is the only Superhero I'm really interested in, most likely because he hasn't got any fancy super powers. I've been watching the two Nolan movies, the 1989 movie, so far 16 episodes of the 60s show, but the number's growing every day as I'm still watching it, I've watched quite a lot of BTAS, and played the Arkham Asylum game, and I'm yet waiting for AC to be released for PC. As I said before, I'd like to play Scarecrow. I think he's the most interesting villain in the Batman universe, and I can't say there was any interpretation I watched which I ever disliked. Yet I'll base my roleplay a bit on the AA version, who IMO seemed like a self-centered,cynical person, believing himself to be a great scientist with a liability to dramatic appearance. Therefore, I'll try to constantly make notes for a possible publication, in a pseudo-scientific way, additionally to what Scarecrow actually says. Am I confusing people now ? Anyway, here we go: Auditition: Private Notes of Dr. Jonathan Crane, Introduction:One might wonder You might You, dear reader, might wonder, what it is that makes a brilliant mind like the one of Dr. Jonathan Crane - and please, no need to be that formal; just call me Scarecrow - join a group of murderers and maniacs? Is it the money? Propably in order to finance my experiments on more effective fear gas? I can assure you, that's not the reason. I'd be better off stealing the wherewithal all by myself, while the others distract the bat. In fact, they would hinder my research rather than actually advantaging it. These philistine idiots But I'll go on about this later. What then? Might the real reason be taking revenge on the Bat and Gotham, finally? No, that's also wrong. Of course I'd like to kill the Bat, but frankly, there's more important things than that. Is it the interaction with a lot of interestingly insane personalities? No, not that either. Most of them are as boring as a rock. The Penguin, for example. The reason for his mannerism is obviously the fear of being unnoticed among all those so-called Supervillains. Plain and easy. Or Two-Face, frankly, that's so easy I won't even talk waste paper for him. Joker is interesting, but with my special medicine, it wouldn't take long to find out anything about him. Fear reveals who they really are deep inside. No, you're thinking too small, my narrow-minded friend. It's an experiment I've thought of, a simply test: How does constant pressue, the fear of failing, of imprisonment, of the Bat himself, affect a constructed society built up on such simple rules as the one of those criminally insanes I'm being with. And of course, I want to be the first one to get the Bat. His mind must be interesting, I'm so excited what I'll find out once he's screaming in fear! But talking about the group, these philistine idiots wouldn't detect science if I used it on them! They are so ignorant, that even you, dear reader, are a genius in comparision. I know them, I've worked with some of them before, and I've treated some of them while I still worked at Arkham. Although "treating" isn't the correct word for what I used to do back then, without the equipment I now use to work with. Doesn't really fit in right here, I might use it somewhen else. Wow, that's a long one. I promise to keep them short if I'm chosen. Also, feel free to tell me if that isn't what you had in mind for Scarecrow.
