Thanks!

Maybe it was the woman who took the sign!

I know how to copy photos from Brickshelf, but I can only upload pics there that are of LEGO. So, I'm not sure how to post non-LEGO photos...

Not really I do it all the time, it's allowed. Goggle images is a good place to find shots...the right size of course - open them, right click them and save their URL...then post the same as a Brickshelf URL.....no problem.

I tried to save the photos to Brickshelf, but they were denied/not uploaded. :hmpf_bad:

My problem is I don't have links for them anymore (and can't re-find them on google) because I'd saved them to my folder. Guess I'll keep looking for other ways... thanks for the help!

Some great creations here, Steph. Some ways simple, in others nicely detailed. I'd like to see the whole town put together!

Too funny about the ice cream accident, how many times have I seen that?

Okay, you've convinced me... I'll try to take some pictures of my town tomorrow. It's supposed to be sunny.

In the meantime... another country house.

lego_002.jpg

Originally I just had the house, then added a little greenery outside-- it looks much better that way!

lego_016.jpg

The bottom floor has a mini kitchen (two hobs in the back that blend in with the wall), table and chairs, and a bench for the living room area.

lego_012.jpg

Upstairs, a bed and two nightstands. Any ideas for anything I could add up there? I do like the simplicity, and don't want to throw off the balance. It just looks a bit plain.

Very nice building ' slovakiasteph ', you are proving to be the Ikea of Eurobricks !

Keep them coming and Brick On ! (oh, mirrors on the ceiling for him....all the girls in town must fall for a firefighter eh ? )

Well, not to drag up an old post or anything, but figured I'd better just keep adding on to the thread I already had!

Several had asked for shots of the whole town... well, guess what I got for Christmas? A table! Bet there aren't many people who were so excited to get a table. My dad even said I could use it for LEGO, so I did! And my town fits perfectly (as long as I don't build anything else)!

You've seen most of these buildings already, but there are still about five I haven't shown you that I'll take pictures of later.

lego_004.jpg

Birds-eye view

lego_008.jpg

in the back: police station, bookshop, panelak (apartment building), tan house

middle: bus stop, church, school, weaving shop

front: blue house, modern house, and other city houses

lego_009.jpg

A few more houses, plus a flower shop (in the front) and a field of sunflowers in the middle, indicating that we're driving outside of the city...

lego_010.jpg

The "country" side of town, with houses, a farm, sunflower field, castle ruins, and a campground.

I missed this thread first time round so thanks for the update!

These are amazing creations. Each has a different feel but they all belong together. The overall feeling is definitely that of a mid-east European town so well done!

My favourite features are the church, the teardrop caravan (I nearly bought a real one last year!) and the non-civilian minifigs "at home".

Cheers

Rog

I followed your town before joining Eurobricks and now have a chance to say how much I like it. I love the playability of all the buildings, with their open backs and interiors. It seems like such a happy place and it's very classic town-like.

It's great to see the whole town put together.

Excellent layout 'Slovakiasteph'. It's great to see it as a whole! The houses are wonderful. I especially like the lt bgrey with red roof and the white duplex against the wall but they are all great. Keep up the wonderful builds default_classic.gif

Thank you, everyone! It's been a lot of fun! I do have a few more close-ups to post here, but I think I'm done building. Plus, I don't have enough bricks to build an entire building.

Eventually I'll have to take these apart... I want to build a few modulars and need the bricks!

I wanted to post this before I forgot what I wanted to say...

Note, I've never seen a Slovak campground and aren't quite sure what they look like... I do read a blog about folks who own a Slovak campground, but it's a more rustic one. So, I've modeled this after American campgrounds.

lego_050.jpg

The first campground block/plate.

lego_051.jpg

Yellow car can't pull in straight. This is the little teardrop trailer I made (I also don't know if they have those in SK).

lego_053.jpg

The back opens... I used some sort of submarine wall/hatch for the door.

lego_054.jpg

I like the LEGO trailers. :classic:

lego_059.jpg

Second block... even more trailers.

lego_057.jpg

The football guy is sitting on a folding chair-- it folds flat into a bed, which goes inside the camper. I modded most of the older ones with these so there's more playability.

lego_061.jpg

Time to grill!

lego_063.jpg

I also modded the inside of this camper... put the table and chairs on the left wall and a bed on the right, with the kitchen in the middle.

lego_064.jpg

Where did he come from? I don't think I trust him with that pan...

(seriously, I opened the camper and the blacksmith was sitting there... think one of my family members put him there while I was home at the holidays)

lego_066.jpg

Third block, the tent wing. I consider everything other than tenting to be "cheater camping."

lego_071.jpg

One time I was camping and there were two owls flying between my campsite and the next, calling occasionally. This, however, is not me. I am not a police officer.

Nice camping ground. It's summer here, so those who are on holidays (not me  ) have been doing that sort of thing. I got that red & white caravan with the blue car for Christmas once. I always wanted space & castle, I usually got town...

Your town looks great all together, a bit clean though! If only real-life towns were so clean.

We don't get owls when we go camping, just possums. They like to rip into tents with their claws looking for food. Some mystery prankster stuck bread under our tent once (found out later), possums were trying to get it all night.

I think I just have a few more buildings to share, although I keep forgetting which ones I've posted here.

lego_072.jpg

There's a church in every town square in Slovakia... the city I visit, Lucenec, has a Catholic church and a Reformed church building too.

I took the rooster from MVR and put it on the top of the steeple because the Reformed church in town has a rooster weathervane.

lego_074.jpg

The side view. You can also see that I didn't have the correct roof piece for the end...

lego_078.jpg

And, the interior. The altar has a cross and candles. The only Catholic church I've been in is my grandparents' Greek Catholic church (they still use Slovak in parts of the service), and it's quite elaborate, but I couldn't quite pull that off. This is just a simple little church.

They should hire you to work on LEGO City! They need some more houses and apartment blocks would be nice.

You mean Greek Orthodox, not Greek Catholic. Almost every country in eastern Europe has an Orthodox church with different beliefs and traditions varying by country.

What a great selection of buildings. It seems to be a bit cramped, though. Great job with your town, look forward to see its growth.

I would LOVE it if LEGO included more houses, etc. in their cities!

Nope, I mean Greek Catholic... there's even a Greek Catholic Union. I just looked it up and it's apparently another name for Eastern Catholic.

My "artist's workshop."

lego_025.jpg

From the front... wish I had enough bley tiles to put a sidewalk out in front.

lego_020.jpg

There's a painting studio on the top floor and a weaving studio on the bottom.

lego_023.jpg

The fold-up bed, folded down.

lego_031.jpg

A closer look at the loom downstairs... what we call a "barn loom" in the US. My maternal great-grandma and paternal great-grandpa each had one for making rag rugs (and I have a smaller floor loom). This loom is actually one of the first things I build when I got back into LEGO, which is why not all the pieces match. I could go back and re-do some of it, but I like the rustic charm.

For some reason, this is my last building... but it was the first building I designed and built for my town. Hmm.

My Slovak farmhouse

lego_041.jpg

A view of the front garden... flowers to the left with a picnic area on the right

lego_043.jpg

lego_032.jpg

The kitchen, dining area, and living room

lego_035.jpg

The "couch" makes me laugh.

Master bedroom... modern and contemporary

lego_037.jpg

LEGO house with a bathroom! Okay, just a tub and sink with sprayer.

lego_038.jpg

I just realized the stairs are missing... whoops... must have stolen them for another project. There was a set in front of the dining table and one in front of the patio door.

And, the attic loft for the children

lego_039.jpg

Although most of the furniture is pretty simple, I do like the house design, the roof line, and the color scheme.
