Atramor cleans off his Sai-dagger free of any dog blood, then sheaths it, hefting the new Chain-whip instead.

"Thanks Rufindel," he notes as he examines each link. Well, he preferred daggers, but he could cause some serious damage with this sucker.

"I agree, we should check these crates. Again, I particularly want to search that dark barrel."

The party checks the barrels and crates at the entrance, but they find no crown-insignia on them. The barrels seem to contain liquids and grain, while opening the crates would require force that would surely attract attention, so they decide against doing that. There are literally hundreds of crates in the warehouse, anyway, so they couldn't possibly check all their contents.

Having found nothing useful, the party turns to search the first aisle. At first sight, the aisle is empty, but as they start looking through the sides of the crates, they hear frantic peeping sounds. A pack of cat-sized rats approach them with hunger gleaming in their eyes.

Boomingham, I think you're forgetting about the free hit that any un-targeted enemy gets on us. I think we should each target a different one, with an extra hit on the big one (which I'm guessing causes more damage to us).

The battle begins. Feeling the thrill of the battle, Eric falls into a Frenzy, dealing 5 damage to each rat. The White Rat tries to get back at Boomingham by attacking him, but his shield deflects the attack. Atramor, Hybros and Alexis all get a hit on their targets, finishing off three of the rats, including the head of the pack. Because Rufindel's target was defeated, he turns his attention to the dark grey rat, but it attacks him with its Foul Bite. Luckily Rufindel's Spirit Guard blocks the poisonous effect.

We did much better that round

I think it's unlikely we won't defeat the remainder this round, so I will use this opportunity to heal myself (hopefully) and stand in the back row.

(Seeing as they'll be defeated even if we hit them from the back row, there's no point in taking extra damage if we're attacked).

Eric roared as blood splattered all over the place when he chopped the rats into pieces. His blade had taken control of him, its thirst for fresh blood awakened by the killing of the guard dog. As Eric stabbed one rat to death, all of its blood seemed to be drained by the lethal blade. Nothing but an empty husk remained. Eric now eyed the remaining critters, ready to strike again.

Eric will attack the dark grey rat, charging from the front line.

Atramor quickly wipes the rat blood from the chain, and then attacks the gray rat from the back row.

Boomingham also attacks from the back row, charging his old foe the white rat.  He chuckles at it, it has given a good fight but still proves no match for him.

"I wonder when we will stop dealing with animals and start dealing with men!"

Rufindel starts the round by performing a Miracle, restoring up to 15 points of health to all allies with no ether cost. Alexis receives 1 point of damage from the White Rat (because 1 cannot be halved), while Hybros is poisoned, losing 1 point of health as well. Eric slays the Dark Grey Rat, and with his target gone, Atramor lunges the White Rat instead, but the rat manages to bite him. Lord Boomingham is also poisoned by the White Rat's Foul Bite.

The White Rat goes into panic and manages to damage Rufindel, before Alexis takes it down with an arrow. Hybros and Lord Boomingham are harmed by the poison once more before the effect fades away.

There are hundreds of crates in the warehouse full of all sorts of merchandise. Does the party really want to waste precious time to open them all?
