Hurrah!  :sweet:

Okay, so, spoils of war...

Three Tonics to Ranger Docken as his Dearly Beloved Party Leader Bonus.

I kid.

So I figure I'll give one Tonic to the warrior who fought best, one Tonic to the warrior who found the beasts, and one Tonic to the warrior who actually uses Ether. Fair?

One Tonic to Sir Christopher Daggerfall
One Tonic to Jess Islanti (who voted for that pumpkin before I did in the third round of choosing)
One Tonic to Tomas.

With the trouble in the Pumpkin Patch settled, the group returned to Old Mack Donauld's farm.

"So, you managed to save one field", the old farmer said. "There's still four more to go. Which one will you get your hands into next?"
1. Sheep Meadow
~ You must find the Direwolf hiding among the twelve sheep. Each time one of you catches a normal sheep, the Direwolf eats another sheep. If six sheep get eaten before the beast is captured, the field is ruined.
2. Corn Maze
~ You must navigate through the corn maze to find the possessed Scarecrow. If you return to the entrance two times before the monster is slain, the field is ruined.
3. Haystacks
~ You must search through nine haystacks to find three Battle Ants. The ants have also hidden three Fire Bombs into the haystacks that will go off if the stack is searched. The ants must be found before the three bombs, or the field is ruined.
4. Apple Orchard
~ You must find the Autumn Dryad hiding up in one six apple trees. Each time you climb the wrong tree, the dryad withers the tree she was hiding in and moves onto another. If the dryad withers four trees, the field is ruined.
5. Pumpkin Patch
~ SAVED!

Tesni stood back and wiped some pumpkin goo from Cryf, smiling at the increase in strenght gained.

"We said the orchard yes. A dryad is a fierce foe but better than a wolf and fire bombs!"

Jess grinned with the thrill of battle, a feeling of power coursing through her veins. Jess grinned broadened when she accepted the Tonic.
After wiping the pumpkin stuff off of Blohdhurm and sheathing it, Jess said "yes, the orchard was were we were going."

Old Mack Donauld showed the party the way to the Apple Orchard.

Posted Image

"These are the last six of my beautiful apple trees, three to our left and three to our right. That damned dryad has withered the rest of them, and now she's after the remaining few. Remember, you have to catch her by climbing up the right tree before she withers four trees. She withers the tree she's hiding in and dashes into another each time you climb a wrong tree, so she could even be in a tree you already checked before. Go on now, catch that bitch for me!"

The party started peering up the apple trees, but they could not see anything through the thick foliage. They would need to check each out one at a time, since there was only one set of ladders available.

Okay then, I guess we have to take a shot in the dark.

Which one shall we climb? And do you guys think the fallen apples mean anything?

well, we really don't have anything else to go on so we might as well go for one of the trees with a fallen apple by it.:sceptic:
I'm thinking we should go for the tree in the front on the right.

Aye, but only one set of ladders may point to a clue. We should tread carefully we don't want to kill the trees!

That was my initial thought, but I can't figure it out if it is.

I don't suppose we're allowed to climb the trees without using the ladder and go up all six at the same time?

Can we do that, Farmer Donauld?

The farmer rolls his eyes.

"No, you can't. That's why I emphasized there is only one set of ladders. Climbing into the trees without them would ruin the puzzle trees."

I don't think we can do that Ranger Docken:sceptic:. Right now I think our best bet would be to simply pick one of the trees and climb up it with the latter, like farmer Donauld told us to.

Tesni sat down and rubbed her forehead. "This is all to hard for my brain, rangers are smart, I leave it to the Party Leader." She flipped up her eyepatch to reveal a perfectly healthy eye and squinted in a puzzled manner at the trees. Shrugging her shoulders the flipped the patch back down and crossed her legs.

That's what I thought.

Well, then, I suppose the middle tree on the left side is a good a guess as any.

Bartholomew sets the ladder to lean against the middle tree on the left side, while Sir Christopher climbs up to take a peek.

There is no dryad there, but the knight finds a plump Healthy Apple (permanently raises maximum health by one). He asks the Party Leader who gets to eat the nutritious apple.

Meanwhile, the Autumn Dryad withers the third tree on the left side, and moves to another tree in a flash.

Five trees remain. Which tree will the party check out next?

I'll eat the apple, since I have the lowest health. I think that's fair justification for giving loot to myself.

So...which tree next?

I was thinking the same thing.

Not sure if such logic can be applied here, but it's better than nothing.
