Here but I've chosen to go a bit silent for a while as I currently have LEGO breathing down my neck... No they're not being threatful or anything but they really-really-really want to know where I got my information from. And besides I have allready revealed most of what I know.

And I also expect the contents of the retailer catalogue to start leaking any week now as from what I understand it should have startet turning up at stores now. (We haven't gotten ours at work yet)
Get to the EB Safehouse!  Remember this sentence very carefully:  "My Uncle Has Lost His Other Shoe."  Repeat, "My Uncle Has Lost His Other Shoe."

Godspeed, Mirandir.  Viva la Lego!

"I don't have a problem! I can stop buying Lego whenever I want. I just...urmm, don't want to stop right now. Yeah, that's it. I'll stop later. Maybe. Someday."

That's funny. I'm seeing Mirandir as a black ops agent, relentlessly pursued by TLC operatives.

Mirandir: "Do you expect me to tell you what my sources are for the 2012 sets?"
TLC Operative: "No, Mr. Mirandir. I expect you to die."

with the 11 sets that Mirandir has revealed one thing has me thinking (Rangers/forrest fire) only 2 sets have trees? not much of a forrest sub theme is it? each set better have 2 brick built trees or molded trees...they need to be surrounded by trees!!

I'm very excited about these new sets (partly because I live in Colorado, and always thought that the mountain sets LEGO did were underdeveloped--now we can get more! :sweet:). Although it will be police (or forest rangers) and fire again, I think that the new setting adequately changes things; I don't think it won't be just a repeat of what we've had. I'm looking forward to pictures!

First, off topic but, Cwetqo, where'd you hear there's going to be LOTR next year?

I'm going to echo the majority and say these sound promising, but awaiting pictures. The camper and the cycle sets both sound enticing. The best possible news for getting both police and fire in January is *hopefully* no police and fire in the winter wave.

I beg to differ--I live in Colorado Springs, the biggest city in Colorado (in terms of area, not population), and we have several smaller forests within the city limits. In addition, larger national forests lie just outside the city limits. We're situated on Colorado's Front Range--as one moves west into the mountains, one would find even more cities (like Woodland Park) that are completely and immediately surrounded by national forests. I would therefore argue that this subtheme is even more properly part of the "City" theme than the farm subtheme was.

Much as I'm unlikely to buy the sets, a lot of larger cities do have something close to a forest, or at least a park requiring rangers. Dublin has the Phoenix Park which is very close to the city centre for instance

Orange fireman = civil defence here. Might buy some for that seeing as I'm a former member...

Something that just occured to me is the way colours can be altered in print. So for example the harsh over saturation and brightness of some images might make dark orange seem like regular orange or even make the new nougat/medium flesh look orange. I'm not doubting anyone but just raising a point. Catalogue pictures can be deceptive and misleading.

I was reading another rumours list, '4441 Police Dog Van'.....another dog box ? Must be a 4x4 copy of this years dog box.
Also '4434 Tipper Truck', I wonder if this will use a molded tipper tray or will it be brick-built like the last. Plus I wonder if the rubbish truck and this tipper truck will share the same cab over design or something else ?

I hope the bad guys have decent new torso prints. I'm craving new City citizens right now even rough bad guy ones.

I did a little playing around in paint shop pro, recolouring a fireman minifig picture with the orange and dark red colours mentioned. If Lego still use the same torso design but only change the colours and leave the hi-vis stripes it actually looks alright. Well the uniform at least. A dark red helmet looks a bit odd. Sadly my efforts weren't good enough to upload. Perhaps someone with Photoshop would be able to illustrate it properly?  :shrug_oh_well:

I have worked out a theory on the recent city sets, they are linked by those three misfit crooks escaping from jail, stealing a fire truck, stealing a space shuttle and stealing a cabin cruiser......what's next year the three nutbags running from a wild bear while trying to steal a garbage truck ? We shall see eh ?

I like the idea of forest rangers theme with newly designed tree's or bring back the cypress tree.  I would hope the uniform for the park rangers to be like dark green and they ahve lots of things like maybe a hoe rake new tools axe chainsaw etc.

I also like the ideas of just a city vehicles theme. I really want a hospital and zoo theme also.

Oh my... if this is all true, and I have a feeling it is, then I'm afraid the City line has really jumped the shark IMO. I don't believe we have ever had such a boring lineup before, with a huge array of Police and Fire rehashes and a few individual vehicles rather than entire, more original subthemes. But, seeing as how mediocre the lineup was in 2011, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

Thinking of it the new sets remind me of the set 6563 Gator Landing.

Why does this forum feel the need to adopt such an overly draconian approach to spelling and grammar? This site, by its very name, probably implies that there are going to be a fairly large number of Europeans posting in the forums for whom English is not their primary language. Why don't we give them a break?

Incidentally I thought the post in question was perfectly intelligible.  If I wanted to be really picky I could say that Hinckley shouldn't have put an s at the end of appropriate!  :classic:

Anyway, back on topic, I'm not too keen on the idea of more Police and Fire sets, even if they are under a different sub-theme. I thought the rumours for 2012 indicated that the Hospital sub-theme was going to make a return?

You're not going to win any friends with that attitude. The fact is most of the EB staff is European... and they don't have a huge problem with spelling and grammar. We're not asking for perfection, just that people don't be lazy. If you want to discuss this further PM me.

The rumours were based on (a) the Ambulance that is coming out in 2012, and (b) the fact that it's been a long time since we last saw any Hospital sets. No one ever suspected that they were actually just going to do yet more police and fire sets next year.
Eh.
