Hello everybody! :classic:

Over in this topic, Mirandir gave us some information about upcomming 2012 City sets. So I thought it would be senseful to start an extra topic about that.

 Mirandir, on 02 August 2011 - 11:46 PM, said:

There will be an ambulance in the jan city wave as part of a "great vehicles" subtheme. That can be taken as a sign both that there will be more hospital sets in the second wave as well as that there won't be...

 Mirandir, on 04 August 2011 - 07:56 PM, said:

A truck, A garbage truck, a 4x4 with a Motorcycle trailer and a car with a camper.
Thank you very much for this information, Mirandir! :classic:

It's a surprise that - after years of having waves only with vehicles and buildings together - we get vehicles on their own.

These vehicles sound great!
The most I'm looking forward to the car with camper. Hopefully the car as well as the camper will have car doors and the camper a decent interior.
And I hope that all the other trucks and cars will include car doors, too.

I could well imagine every car/truck to be around the same price like this year's prison transporter (17 Euros), including two minifigs and some additional stuff, e. g.:
-car with camper: male and female civilian, suitcase, two cups
-truck: two construction workers with new yellow helmets, jackhammer
-garbage truck: two workers, shovel, brush, dustbin(s)
-4x4: driver and motorcycler, motorcycle
-ambulance: paramedic, patient, stretcher, oxygen resuscitation apparatus
What do you think?

I'm really hoping for some civilian buildings in 2012 (cafe/restaurant, Lego Store, hotel, grocery, supermarket etc.) - but I fear that we won't see (m)any.

Klaus-Dieter, well just wait and see what will be on the menu for 2012. A car with camper sounds great to me.. Trucks are always okay, as long as the do not look the same as more recent versions. (for example the garbage truck or cementmixer)
A hospital would be nice to, this would also fit in the girls-theme, maybe????

Maybe a new train or train-accesoires?????

I wonder what TLG comes up with! It may find its way in my Large City!! (see links below)

I like the idea of smaller sets in the City line-- populate the streets without breaking the bank.

I just picked up the old Garbage Truck, so it'll be interesting to see how different (and how similar) the new one will be.  I kinda like the orange and green color scheme.

Love the idea of the 4x4 and motorcycle trailer.  I can practically see that parked outside the cabin now  :sweet:

Ambulance is great-- hopefully this WILL be the start of a new line.  The way I see it, if we see a new logo of any kind, it likely means the full-blown hospital wave hits later in the year.  If they rehash the old one... hmmm, not so sure.

What could that truck be about?  Construction?  Civilian?  Hmmm...

EVERYTHING IS OVERPRICED I MEAN AWESOME!!!

One of my favourite sets of all time is the Vacation Camper.

Posted Image

I've always had a thing about trailers, my favourite micro machines and other toys had trailers as well. I'm almost absolutely sure that this new 'car with a camper' is going to be my favourite for 2012.

Vehicles are great.
Past years we have seen a helicopter, a boat and a house (city/bank) as limited productions,
so given early rumors there is still hope for a nice set of sets.

The amount of sets needed to launch a girly theme is intimidating so I hope they are full of nice parts and ideas
and goes on sale quickly :P There is also the joker in licenced themes which could aswell be contemporary, but even
better a 100 years something  past.

People are going to hate this but besides "great vehicles" we are getting... *drum roll*... Fire and Police... Yes we're getting cops and firemen *again*. The twist here is that they're Forrest Fire and Forrest Police. The policefigs look like park rangers and wears tan hats that looks like this.

Sets are:
4436 Patrol Car
A police car, a police fig, a bandit and a road boom/barrier or whatever it's called

4437 Police Pursuit
A dark red 4WD with a bandit and a policeman on an ATV.

4439 Heavy Lift Helicopter
A blue dual rotor helicopter with 2 pilots a policeman and a police ATV that fits in the back of the helicopter. Thankfully it does not use that dreaded nose piece that were used on the recent helicopters and the City Space Shuttle.

4440 Police Station
A police station that doesn't look anything like the recent two police stations. Amongst other things it includes a brown bear.

4441 Police Dog Van
Includes a police dog van, two dogs, one forrest police, one bandit, a black and dark red sports car, a small gold mine cave.

4442 Crooks Hideout
Includes a small cabin, A police "jeep", a 3 wheel police "crosser", 2 forrest police, 2 bandits and a black and dark red roadster(I think)

4205 Off Road Command Centre
Includes an Off Road Command centre car (Much smaller than the city equvalent), a boat trailer with a dinghy, 2 forrest policemen and 1 bandit on a raft (2x4 treasure chest).

4427 Fire ATV
Includes an ATV, 1 fireman with smoke-helmet-equipment and a chainsaw.

4208 4x4 Fire Truck
Includes a 4x4 firetruck, one fireman with smoke-helmet and a burning tree.

4209 Fire Plane
Includes a fire jeep with a trailer with equipment, a fireplane that can be loaded with waterbricks that can be used to waterbomb a forrest fire, two pilots, one fireman and two burning trees.

4430 Fire Transporter
A truck with a command centre 3 firemen and an amphibious-looking 8 wheeled firetruck.

The ranger theme sounds really good, but I can't help thinking this will be sort of a rehash of what we've already seen, although in another setting :hmpf_bad: Anyways it probaly is me, since I'm almost always sceptical to upcomming sets until I see them

this is great news!!!  I love the idea of Forest Rangers and Fire Fighters (this is, if the minifigs are different that the usual fireman minifig, if would be great if someone could share more details.)  The ggod thing about this themes is that we will be getting (I guess) quite a lot of trees, which are much needed...

Wow, this news... it's absolutely weak.  you get Fire in 2010, Police in 2011, and... Fire and Police again in 2012????  I guess I can't argue with what 8 year old boys want, right?  Moar cops pew-pewing bandits?  *Queue long wait for next big modular*

And I could give two brown bricks about a "Forest" subtheme, There ain't no "Forest" in a "City!"  And no, I really don't like every other set having a Bandit, too.  6 Bandits on 7 Police sets...

I was hoping they'd revisit Octan/automobile theme again, with race cars, gas stations, off-road pickups and hot-rods...  They haven't had that in a while.

Yeah. On the one hand, the idea of forest rangers is something TLC has never done before. But then you realize it's just the same police / fire sets in a different color scheme. Sigh ...

The brown bear sounds cool though. I'm always happy to have a new animal in my zoo.

Well I haven't needed more police or fire sets for many years.  However depending on what they contain, the color schemes, and torso prints, I might be very interested in Forest Rangers.  Its just different enough that it could fill a "gap" missing in my town, like 2011's "City Bank".    Hopefully there will be plenty of foliage, I can never get enough of that.

Thanks for the news !!! Although yes Fire and Police again I really don't mind as the sets are different and sound good.

New Brown bear!!! That is great!

Of other interest is the set with a small gold mine (new POTC gold in chrome I hope)

As well as the Cabin set :oh:
Easily converted for civilian use.

Can't wait to see how they do the 4WD and Jeep vehicles haven't had any in along time and they are among my favorite vehicles.

Also how do you know the trees are burning/flames or printing? are any a new cypress tree mold?

Now for the other sets, most intrigued by the Camper Trailer and 4x4 w/motorcycle as well looking forward to a new Garbage Truck. Because the last one was actually called a "Recycle Truck". As long as it has a different logo/color scheme I will get it, I have the orange recycle truck from 2007.

This "Forrest Rangers" sounds good if the color scheme is right.
And wow, a Ranger hat? Now THAT I like. Hopefully this theme could come with other cool new accessories and bits.

Hey, that's not that bad. I'm not much of a City collector and I honestly wouldn't mind getting Fire and Police every year, but at least they're trying something different.
The hats might be interesting if they're a new mould. It also sounds as if there's some action elements in there.

4205 Off Road Command Centre sounds cool.

4209 Fire Plane maybe a floatplane like a Bombardier 415.

4430 Fire Transporter sounds similar to 7213 Off-Road Fire Truck & Fireboat

4439 Heavy Lift Helicopter I wonder what the nose piece is.

It looke like the city theme is going to the forest and away from the city setting.

I'm not surprised by more police and fire as they tend to sell - we have to remember there are more 8 years old LEGO fans than there are older teens and adults.

I'm hoping for more 6-stud wide vehicles. The ambulance mentioned in the first post sounds promising.

Forest rangers sound good. With the farm being out of town I think it's kinda cool that there are some more out of town sets. And a forest is a great setting. Brown bears and burning trees and 4x4's and rangers chasing miscreants. Reminds me of the old RES-Q subtheme in a way.

I'm kind of excited to see a new direction being taken with our standard 1-2 year rotation of fire/police (and its being combined  ) but I was REALLY hoping that some of the initial rumors of more 'vehicles' was going to be true (trash truck, ambulance, car w/ trailer).  Are these still on the table or were these just only rumors?  I thought that all of this news came from Mirandir, both this new ranger sets and the other vehicles, so are we going to see both?

Mirandir, want to weigh in?  My household is waiting,on edge, for City tid-bits.  :cry_happy:  And is there any news for more Farm sets (whether its some other industry, like the harbor, with a farm logo)?

Woot, forest rangers!  As my "town" currently includes a ranch, pig farm, farmhouse, and log cabin, and a campground in-the-works, that will fit in well!

I'm excited about the car and camper, too, for the same reason.  The last car and camper was in 88!  I wonder if this will be a 4-wide or 6-wide like the more recent camper.

I agree there might even be some random (new) civilians in the sets as well like hikers needed to get rescued etc.
