What do you mean imagine?  That just sounds like a Thursday to me

This trailer is so awesome, and this movies is going to be freaking amazing.  My friends and I were all discussing what the best scene from the trailer was, and it was a two way tie between when hulk saves iron man and when iron man takes his suit off, anyone else with a different opinion?  :classic:

I personally enjoyed the heck out of that scene where Iron Man flies through the city dodging and destroying the alien crafts! But yeah, the scene where he takes his armor off (or it is taken off of him) is pretty good too as it shows how self-confident and brilliant he is!

I wonder if it will be Hulk who will smash the giant eel thing in the end.

Of course not! In fact, the ability to fight alongside such superhumans makes them strong, in my opinion! But imagine going up against a god and his army of alien warriors with only a bow and arrows or a couple of guns.

And for sex appeal! I certainly wouldn't mind getting attacked by her like this.
Okay you just said it like it was a bad thing.

And that too.    Me either.

Now I know this is unlikely, but could that eel thing be Jörmungandr? It doesn't look that much like a serpent, but I don't know of any Skrull giant eels that it could be. Does this make any sense?

For some reason the scene showing that alien eel/whale/whatever reminds me of the Driller/Shockwave in Transformers 3.

Seriously?  I hope that was a joke (even if it was a lame one).  I've moved this to the Culture and Multimedia topic where it belongs since it does not talk about the Lego sets.

Joss Whedon is a good writer, good director, and a huge comic book nerd.  He has yet to disappoint me with something.

The cast is fantastic.  The Avengers are awesome.

I have nothing else to add.  I think that all speaks for itself.  I'm super stoked.

Take out the god part and replace "alien" with "zombie", and you have the zombies mode of black ops. And yes, I have gone up aginst them with the tools mentioned.

I am super stoked about the Avengers movie, in part because I'm FINALLY getting around to watching the individual movies of each Avenger now.  I just watched Iron Man yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised at how many of the Shout Outs I "got", considering just how casual a comic book fan I am (read: owns exactly one Marvel comic book, a gift from my uncle).  I kinda wish the LEGO Superheroes sets had started when I was younger, I might have gotten into comics more if that had been the case.  :sceptic:

@Flipz: By 'shout outs', do you mean references to other comics or characters?
I watched Iron Man as well, a few days ago, but I can't remember any of those, to be honest.

Me and my sister have begun a marathon too, in preparance (is that a word?) for The Avengers.
We skipped Captain America, though, 'cause we watched that not too long ago, when it just came out on DVD.
Will be watching The Incredible Hulk a few weeks from now and then Iron Man 2 and then Thor.
And then they assemble

Regards,
Mitch

I've seen most of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America I'll have to look into the Hulk.

No, it's more about knowing who Colonel Rhodes turns out to be, and the little "next time" line he makes toward the end, the identity of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division, that sort of thing.  (Admittedly, I failed to catch that until the reveal at the end, but I still went "squee" when it did happen.)

I was watching Iron Man the other day as well and I did catch quite a few of those references mentioned for the first time. It was enjoyable to watch and notice those references which I hadn't before.

Don't forget Cap's shield! It was in both Iron Man movies! It wasn't quite as obvious in the first though:

Oh, like that. Yeah the S.H.I.E.L.D stuff is great!
And I had my 'squee' moment in the post-credit scene of The Incredible Hulk
Actually I had it everytime the possibility of the characters joining in a team is mentioned in the movies

And I always miss the appearance of Cap's shield in the first Iron Man

There was a massive, deep article on the film on AICN this week.  Not spoilery, just deep into the conception of the film.

In other news, I've learned that it won't be released in theaters until August in Japan, so it looks like the Internet will win yet again over the market, in my case.

New clip!  Man Widow is a bad megablocks!  :sweet:

However I feel as though Johanson can't pull off the cold and distant character Widow should be.

Yeah, I think she's a little too jiggly to master the character.  I don't want to discriminate based on looks, but I doubt any EB members would accept me as a professional athlete in a film either.

The voluptuous Johanson is not a great choice for a sleek, lithe spy like the Widow, and a seeming casting misfire right from the start.
