I could try a worm gear but it has to be before the knob wheels at the cab if possible even before the steering shaft goes to the CV but that does mean redoing the entire front axle to allow a worm to be used for steering.

I would try to have all your gearing down right by the gear rack, move the CV joint back to give you some room to have it between the rack/pinion gear and cv joint. This should eliminate some of it.
Even the best can be made better, but most important is to be excellent to each other and party on dudes!!!!!!

Santa brought me an 8110 =)

Does anyone of you know which other LEGO Technic Models fit the size (scale?) of the Unimog?

8047 Compact Exvacator? 8043 Motorized Excavator ? How about the Trailer of 8063 Tractor with Trailer?

I added a pneumatic driven bed to the Unimog already some weeks ago. Some of you gave me the challange to ad a 3-side bed to it. Here it is! But I was inspired by Barman76 and his blue Unimog. He used a small LA for it.

It is still in prototype stadium, so there will be some additional changes upcoming.

See 4 more pictures in my flickr photostream. The pictures there also have a bigger resolution.

Regards,
Gerhard

Hello Gerhard,

first I want to say that your three-way-bed is fantastic!

I would like to build this three-way-bed too. But I have got some questions:

1. Where do you mounted the pneumatic cylinder at the foot of it?

2. Where do you mounted the second pneumatic valve for this function?

Could you please take some pictures for me?

Especially I would like to get a detailed view of the under side of the bed, the modifications you have made on the frame and the mounting of the cylinder at the bed.

Thanks for your help!

Greetings,
Bastian

jbrost76 posted this YouTube video of a Lego "Unimog-based Swiffer vehicle for Monster Chess board"  :oh:   -- "We needed some way to clean our Monster Chess & Robo Rally game board at shows. I just got a LEGO Technic Unimog set. It seemed natural to turn it into a Swiffer truck-- ok, maybe it only seemed natural to me. This is the first test video."

@ PeterleB:  Your MOCpages post is not public yet -- "This page is not visible yet....Actually, a MOCpages moderator just has to approve this page first before anyone can see it."

Could you "Deeplink" the pictures and the LDD .lxf file?

Anika Vuurzoon's YouTube video of her "NXTified" Lego Unimog is interesting:

Sorry, PeterleB -- "This folder is not yet public" in your Brickshelf gallery.  Without deeplinking, we may have to wait a few days to see your pictures.

that body looks cool.  Maybe you could fit some sort of off road atv into the back of the body that firefighters could use to get to fires quickly.
