Well, certainly this method will not work with Brickbeard's Bounty's hull as it has no screwed top parts. However as bow and stern of that ship are made of two parts each, similar effects can be achieved by switching the top parts, which will be possible as soon as Lego makes another ship with the same hull as Brickbeard's Bounty, only in different colour... :pir-classic:

I quite like the BB hulls, as they don't have the hole in the bow anymore and it should be easy to make a straight waterline.
I haven't tried it's full potential yet, but i am planning on making a ship with it.
Wouldn't it be cool if the bowpart came out in black as well, imagine a low straight waterline.. :pir-cry_happy:

Hmm this is an interesting thing which I'm going to try myself soon.
I was advised by CGH to use wide brown hulls with a black trim on it for my ship here, but they don't exist. Now where is my airbrush? :pir-tongue:

I said red tops for the red hulls buddy. :pir-wink:

Oh, my mistake. :pir_laugh2:
But I think airbrushing is not a bad idea to create a black waterline though.

It'd be cool if the bottom part was white, like your Prins Willems.

That's the narrow hull, unfortunately there are no large hulls with black trim.  :pir-cry_sad:
The only thing left for me is getting some black paint. :pir-blush:

You also can create a white + white (good for a ship of a female pirate (together with the colour gold & red)).

I'm afraid you cannot make white + white. The top parts of the Armada Flagship hull are blue, and white top parts don't exist - unless they are some rare or unreleased parts.

I'd advise you to use the red ones and leave the paint.
The paint never stays on that good and it will look painted.
But it's your hull ey...

Thanks! I'm glad you confirmed the thing I was worried about. And if I might succeed in painting the hull you'll see the colour is different then LEGO black.  :pir-hmpf_bad:
Off to another way to solve this problem...

Some people made the top part black with electrical tape, i think RTN and HMS243 did it quite succesfully.

Oooops... Sorry, I missed that. Unless it's some kind of mistake, it must be a very rare piece as it doesn't appear in any set known to me...

That smells like paint, they don't officially excist.
The second one also says ''blue interior'', i think that explains it.

I don't trust it also... but that's what the guy on BL says.
If someone would want to buy these,  I advice you to first make contact and ask some explanation before buying.
