I'm pretty amazed at the containers as well as the rest of the set.  Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

A few more comments on this set:

That is a pretty big panel that is on both sides (6x16?).  Wow, big piece.

This set seems to use alot of decals (look at the cab windows).

This set has some interesting additions that could be used on other models.  The light structure above the windshield looks nice.  The addition of the steps than many add onto the BNSF model.  The back end of the body looks much nicer than the BNSF.

Looks like LEGO did alot of homework on this one and incorporated alot of additions that fans have added to older models.

I think the panels on the sides are meant to hide a battery box, should you decide to PF-up the model.  They easilly fit behind there.

I will be adding a 9v motor though, and that's it.

As mentioned before the dutch site was quoting 149 Euro for the kit... so the pack on its own will be less.

Well, i hope it is on stock....im living in Holland..so in that case it would be easy to get one....BUT....i alos live near the German border, so maybe i can get it there, when its out....might even be cheaper there!!!
Anyway, hope we do not have to wait very long....!!!

Fingers crossed that we hear about this soon, price speculation is only ever speculation.
Good set this one, TLG did well. I'm finding it surprising that we've gotten our two AFOL train sets in such a short timeframe. I have my doubts that we'll see another AFOL train for a few years now, but to be honest I'm happy. The two sets are great.
A shame that this doesn't come with one extra car, two kinda seems a little short for a cargo train. But perhaps I'm just being a pain.

No it isn't, 8866 is the older RC train motor. 88002 will be the PF train motor currently only available in the 2010 train sets.

While Jim Foulds was at Brickvention, I asked a bunch of direct questions about how pleased TLG was with the sales of the Emerald Night and if we would see more AFOL focused exclusive trains. Jim said as far as he knew the Emerald Night was considered a success. He very particularly said he wasn't at liberty to discuss upcoming products, by which I inferred at the time there must be at least one, and I guess the this train confirms that. He did say that if I was happy with the Emerald Night, just wait and see whats coming. He was pretty sure train fans would not be disappointed. He has a background in trains himself so I'm pretty sure he is well aware what would please us. If we get an exclusive train of the quality of this one every couple of years I'd be well happy. Even every three to four years would be OK if we get city trains in between. We have been very well served lately with licensed trains as well.

@buddy: I'm pretty sure that they don't have it in stock yet. Dutch stores do not generally have the exclusives right away, the LEGO stores will have them earlier most of the time.

Well, looking at the brickshop.nl site: they got their own set as 'one of the first' in the world. So they have one set. They are very excited about it. They will also sell a complete train set PF:

Has anyone noticed that it indicates adding 88002, which , at least from what I can tell cannot yet be ordered in the US? Are they going to make the new PF motor available to order separately?  The current PF motor they have up there is the older one. There was a nice article (link not handy) that documents the new PF motors vs the old and how the new are better.

Just FYI, I'm almost positive I saw a PF upgrade kit for this listed a couple of days ago on a site that had early photos of the set. This was before the set got removed from most places. I unfortunately don't remember many of the details since I assumed it was a public release rather than some limited thing that would get removed. Either way, upgrade kit very possible. It also seems possible that elements of this set may be sold separately since that same site implied that set 10219 is a compilation set of a few smaller, separate sets, namely the engine and the station. Someone may want to search around and see if they can find anything on this.

This is definitely going into my Train collection. I just hope the distributions will not be too hard to find this beauty. It is also nice to know that it comes with PF but at the same time with a hefty price tag.

Does anyone else notice that in thispicture for the PF motor that it's assembled differently? It doesn't look nearly as good as the main model. So do you think that that the alternate model is necessary to motorize the train or is it simply an alternate model that TLG decided to show with the PF information?

That's because that's the 'reverse' side of the train from the other photos.  Still the same build, just facing a different direction.

Hmm, I didn't see that. Still something does seem different. It appears that the front end is shorter when it isn't. This angle makes it look smaller and the box art makes it look bigger. Just the angle, my apologizes.
