I agree that there are not enough orks. I have about 30 or so but I will try to get some more, maybe 50-100 if I can get (or afford) the parts!

But two things:
First you should use a complete baseplate for displaying the orcs or at least you should put a grey cloth beneath the plates they are standing!!! ;)
Second: More orcs.... :D
Nonetheless looking veeeeeery good!!! :D :D

Theirs a few sites out their that sell custom LOTR decals for most of the characters that might intrest you and they also do custom weapons and the best bit is that their prices are low :-D .

Firstly I plan to extend the end of the wall into some sort of BURPish structure. Then I will create a large plate underneath, as you said, which will cover the whole area of the MOC. (This is what I am trying to do at the moment)
Secondly I plan to make a few minor and major changes to the actual fortress.
I want to change the design of the tower and make it more rounded, then I will changed the arches at the back and maybe extend it to create the hall at the back.
Then I will do little detail changes around this area.
Lastly, I will buy a whole load of figures. Mainly orks and such and then I can get some decals on the elves.. and so on.
This project is basically on-going, so it won't ever really be complete. But I will DEFINATELY bring it to the eurobricks event! :)

Yeah I did feel it looked out of date and place untill I actually noticed when it was posted...
Interesting to see this done long before LEGO LOTR or even the orcs/trolls in Fantasy Castle. And funny to see some similarities to what LEGO finally ended up doing.
