Your renders are amazing. What is the secret to these awesome renders? Can you please tell me? I would love to use a reflective base as well.

Thanks in advance!

There's no secret...

I use Pov Ray with tweaked colors and surfaces finishes, tweaked Radiosity settings. I create myself high quality parts when they are not in the LGEO library or when they don't look that nice in LGEO library.

I never render a model that have not all its parts in high quality (meaning, round surfaces everywhere instead fo ldraw angular shapes and fillets on every line) and that is not errors free (I author the part in Ldraw if needed).

I don't care if it take days to renders (but usually it needs a few hours if there's not too many transparent parts).

Floor reflection is quite easy to implement, here are my settings :

object {

plane { y, LDXFloorLoc hollow }

texture {

pigment { color rgb <0.7,0.75,0.8> }

finish { ambient 0 diffuse 1 reflection 0.15 }

}

}

(LDXFloorLoc comes from Ldview export)

I'm really thinking about sharing my high quality parts (I have around 500 that I've made) but before I need to clean up things and find a way to host them (1.5 Go).

They are made to be compatible with LGEO library.

If I get request from some people, I will try to work on that.

You can use Onedrive to host the parts. :classic:

Hey, didn't you said you have used my template for your renders? Cos if so YOU ALREADY HAVE REFLECTIVE BASEPLATE there, right? :look::sceptic:

Hi.

I am very impressed by the models you made. Could you tell me, if they can be re-arranged in some automatic way? E.g. the "6895 - Spy-Trak 1". Is there a way, to change the angle of the back part, with automatic change the angle of the wheels? Or do I need to do it manually for every part?

There's a link to download the mpd file in all my posts, so you can then edit it in MLCAD or LDCad. As I never tried to use animation with connectivity in LDCad, I would say that you would need to edit the Model manually, but I usually create "easily-rotatable" submodels, so this shouldn't be that hard.

I actually don't like models that are completely streight and unrotated like they need to be in the LDD thread, I prefer to give them a bit more "life" but I can understand that it's less easy to reuse.

You can use Onedrive to host the parts. :classic:

I think I will use dropbox, but I first need to clean the headers of my files and so on, to make something a bit more releasable...

Actually I am not trying to make any animation. Just the high resolution renders, which in the end, I hope, will lead me to whole scene. I have looked closely to your models and they are in fact easy to rebuild.
