The LEGO Group Wants to Hear From You!

As Adult or Teenage Fans of LEGO, we value your perspective and respect your creativity and passion for the LEGO brand.

Once again we ask you to take a survey so that we may learn more about the needs and wishes of the global AFOL (defined as ages 20+) and TFOL (defined as ages 13-19) communities.

Please take a few moments to complete this short online survey to let us know your opinion about the LEGO Group.

You might notice that the link refers to the LEGO Kids Inner Circle; this is because Satmetrix, which hosts that site, is also supporting our efforts to track AFOL/TFOL opinions.  Rest assured that this survey is for AFOL’s and TFOLs only.

Here are some of the key findings from the July 2010 survey:

  • The survey was completed by 7.911 AFOLs and TFOLs. 35% of respondents were TFOLs, 65% was AFOLs. The number of respondent continues to grow and the difference between teenagers and adults has shifted by 5% in favor of the teenagers from the last survey results.
  • In this survey we asked some questions specifically about the use of smart phones. We found that only 33% of the all respondents use one, of those only 19% of the teenage fans use one while 41% of the adults use one.
  • Regarding the preferred operating system, Apple was the highest with 49% followed by Android with 16%.
  • When asked about interest in interacting with LEGO Customer service, 33% said you preferred not to.  Of those that would like to interact, 53% preferred to use an online method such as facebook or virtual chat program
Thank you,
The LEGO Community Team

Well that was interesting, would you like to see civilian houses with more yellow bricks?, I never knew there was a demand. Anyway I added to make LDD cheaper and bring back classic pirates eventually of course.

It's always good when they want to hear from the customers.
This time I said I really hope they'll make a wig (for the pirates theme) in the future.
Anyway, I think this should be blogged, but I don't know if I have the time for it in the following days, so if someone else can do it, that wold be great :pir-sweet:

EDIT: I had time for it, so Go to Classic-Pirates.com

That was a lot shorter than I expected! I voted for the prevention of curled instruction booklets and stickers.

I think the options they give in the multiple choice part are all randomly selected from options other people have given.

I added that if they can't bring back classic pirates, then they could still keep the line alive with the occasional Exclusive pirate set... it's the only way I can see classic pirates being continued while POTC is on the shelves.

These are just things that other people have typed into the survey and it wants to know what you think of these ideas. I voted for more frequent surveys for AFOLS/TFOLS on desired parts/colours, and more uncommon colours in sets, e.g. sand blue.

One of the user-created options I saw was (paraphrasing, can't remember exact wording): "Bring back classic pirates. Make the quality as good as the Imperial Flagship, and less like Brickbeard's Bounty." I voted that up to my #1 request, even though I didn't like the wording about the second half. I would rather see that option be simply "bring back Pirates"; any more than that is asking too much.

My second place vote was for "Make landscape packs with rocks, trees, etc". That is a really awesome idea!

So reading through here I realized I forgot to add a comment about Pirate sets! So I went back to see if I could take it again and could, interestingly, they had a new set of Ideas to choose from, a couple were repeated. Just thought you guys would want to know, if you didn't already.

Oh and I basically told them to re release old pirate sets and/or new blue coat sets!

Seems like a lot of people want pirates back, I hope they listen. I remember last survey I asked for a new Ninja theme, next year we have Ninjago!
