tin7_creations Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 (edited) I don't know if I should post these in this forum; if anyone thinks it should be moved, then please move it! Here's 6 decals for any Harry Potter MOCs, for those of you who complain that LEGO didn't make these. Ravenclaw Uniform (Front) Ravenclaw Uniform (Back) Ravenclaw Quidditch Uniform Hufflepuff Uniform (Front) Hufflepuff Uniform (Back) Hufflepuff Quidditch Uniform Hope everyone like these, and I hope to see these appearing in many HP MOCs! Cheers, ~tin7 UPDATE: Ravenclaw Quidditch Uniform (Dark Blue) Edited October 17, 2010 by tin7 Quote
Sirius Black Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Whoah! Those are great! Any chance that you could do the same with the Gryffindor and Slytherin uniforms, or have you already donoe so? Would it be possible for you to design the Ravenclaw in dark blue as well? With the dark red and dark green, dark blue would be a great match. I particularly like the icons on the Hogwarts Crest. I can imagine that you put a lot of work into them! Thanks for making these! Sirius Quote
RoryoCox Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Excellent decals, I have been hoping someone would make these but could you make the Ravenclaw Quidditch in dark blue to make the others. Thanks for Sharing and I will be using these in the future. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Really nice decals, shame the TLG don't make any sets with these in Quote
Geertos13 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Really Excelent, great for My Luna Character and very usefull for Harry Potter Brickfilming :D Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Thanks for sharing this tin7! I'm not so familiar with the previously released torsos, I know only of the Gryffindor and Slytherin ones, so there weren't any Ravenclaw and Hupplepuff torsos before? Quote
Aanchir Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Thanks for sharing this tin7! I'm not so familiar with the previously released torsos, I know only of the Gryffindor and Slytherin ones, so there weren't any Ravenclaw and Hupplepuff torsos before? Not really. There hadn't been any major Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff characters to appear in sets. And there's not that many to choose from today whom fans would recognize, so I doubt we can anticipate Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff figs in the new iteration of the Harry Potter theme (keep in mind that minifigures drive up the price of a set, so every minifigure should appeal strongly to fans, rather than including generic figs or minor, less memorable characters). I would think this should go in the MCW forum, but I can understand why you wanted to put it here where it would get more attention from the intended audience. Perhaps if a staffie decides this should be moved, you can put a link to it in the 2010 Harry Potter topic. Quote

What's cool is that they now released Luna, But unfortunatly she only appears in one set and doens't wear the school uniform, which is strange by the way because Ginny, is wearing school robes and she is in the same year. Baylego Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Cool tin7! 10or has already made the school uniforms, but he didn't have quidditch uniforms, so thanks for those! Quote
The Penguin Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Thank you very much, tin7! ) Those are indeed very welcome. Your talent of making decals doesn't fail to amaze me! ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
Ravenclaw2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 These really are spectacular. I think they will come in very useful. Can someone help me - how do you make a decal? And is it possible to buy these excellent ones you have made? Quote
Internets Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) These are really cool! Definitely needed for Luna and Cho. Has anyone made some of the uniform variants from the later movies? Like Harry's open cardigan? Edited October 27, 2010 by Internets Quote
Lord Embo Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 (edited) Not really. There hadn't been any major Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff characters to appear in sets. For Hufflepuff we have Cedric Diggory(the entire plot of the Goblet of Fire involved him one way or another) and for Ravenclaw we have Luna Lovegood(she plays quite an important part in the final three films) and we also have Cho Chang, who Harry fancied for a while. Also, where can we buy them? Can you also make other decals, mainly Cedric's clothes for the three challenges in the Triwizard tournament? I must get some of these... ybmagpye Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Hi! I'm a newby around here, so forgive my ignorance. How does one use the decals? I get the impression one can print them and glue them (?) to a lego torso, is that right? How do you get the print to the correct size and what sort of paper does one use? Can one print on say, transparent labeling material and then just stick it onto a suitable lego torso? See? Told you I was ignorant! Do people ever just paint over pre-existing lego torsos? I have loads of Gryfindor uniform torsos so I've toyed with the idea of just painting over the red bits of the uniform in yellow for Hufflepuff or blue for Ravenclaw. Has anyone given that a go? Just wondering. I tried creating my own Cedrick in his Triwizard harlequin shirt, but the yellow acrylic paint (which many recommend) totally sucked. It paints on thin, then after drying, when I tried to add a second layer, it only caused the first layer to go soft and smear. Didn't work at all. I then bought some enamel paint but I'm a little afraid to try it as everyone keeps saying how difficult it is to work with. Anyway, I'm going to screw up my courage and try my painting over the Gryffindor red uniform bits idea. Quote

Buy some sticker labels from your local stationary store; use white sticker labels, not transparent ones. You can use Microsoft Word to re-size the decals. Re-size them to 0.48" x 0.59", that size is a perfect fit on LEGO torsos; print them, then just peel the sticker off, and stick it onto a torso. Quote
Lord Embo Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Re-size them to 0.48" x 0.59", What is that in centimetres, as on my Microsoft Word, it is in centimetres? Lord Embo Quote
tin7_creations Posted October 30, 2010 Author Posted October 30, 2010 What is that in centimetres, as on my Microsoft Word, it is in centimetres? Lord Embo 1.22cm x 1.50cm Quote

Thanks fore these! Cannot wait to try them. Quote
ybmagpye Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 Great job Tin7, I especially like the sweater ones. Ybmagpie you can find a tutorial here YIPPY SKIPPY! I can't wait to try out the decals, they are perfect. Yes, PERFECT! I wish LEGOs made Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff figures, but until that far and distant day, tin7's designs & decals fill the bill with style. And thank you for the tutorial link darth yogi. Quote
Lord Embo Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I've used the Hufflepuff Quidditch decal and I must say, it looks brilliant! All I need now is a yellow cape and a more accurate head and hair that closely resembles Cedric Diggory. I have the broom, legs and hands, just not what I mentioned in my last sentence. Thanks for these Tin7, they will prove really helpful when I am MOCing. Lord Embo Quote

Vindice Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Piemaster, you might be better off looking on the decal wish list part of the forum. It's under custom minifig section. Having said that I wouldn't mind seeing them on this section, makes them easier to find. Quote
Ultron Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I really like the dark blue ravenclaw quidditch uniform its very nicely detailed Quote
