I'm actually not sure whether a minifigure would have worked well at this scale. Perhaps Lasse could enlighten us...
It's not the only option. They could also have used a microfig or a trophy. I initially thought minifig because if a minifig was used, it could've been a light bley version of one of the soldiers from Army Men on Patrol. (though going to such lengths as to create a new printed minifig just for an easter egg most people would never get is probably too much to ask)

Minifig would probably not work there since it'd be a bit big, and would likely sticut even if you matched the color perfectly, unless you used minifig without leg. Microfig may be still a bit large but they are available in light bley and could hide well in plain sight.   Trophy also could work but the best color would be metallic silver and it would kind of stick out, not like the movie where no one would have seen it if you didn't know where it was hiding.

Color would, of course, be an issue if it wasn't matched properly; I was just mentioning molds since if TLG did do that they wouldn't have to use an existing color.

Or we could go back to the glorious old days of stickered minifigures...

You're kidding me, right?
We got the same pics in the press release (dedicated topic) plus all the pics are in our flickr as well.
Both things have been posted and uploaded around 7 hours before you posted this.
Nice job on looking around filiospinato

This may be in the wrong topic but I was thinking, we were supposed to get Quinlan Vos in the t-6 shuttle but we didn't so we eventually got him anyway. Same happenned with the assasin droid in the bounty hunter assault gunship. It was supposed to have speacil printing as shown in the perminialry pic but it didn't. Now IG-88 is getting speacil printing. Now the point is that in the bounty hunter assault gunship perminialry pic sugi had cato parasittis mask. So do you think that means we'll get a cato parasitti?

Could be possible, but it would be difficult to find a set fitting for her. She only appeared in the Holocron episode and never was around near a ship or vehicle. Even when one doesn´t care if the figure fits 100% in the set (like Aurra in the Halo or Quinlan Vos in the frigate) I don´t remember any other bounty hunter vehicle, only some scenery but playsets seem highly unlikely.
Also Quinlan Vos was scrapped rather far into developement, because he was seen with name and nearly exact appearance in the catalog. Cato/Sugii was far less complete with blank parts and even the mask missing several details, also the name was already changed to Sugii.

The Executor looks nice but another bland cruiser for hundreads of euros isn´t what I would need in my collection. The inclusion of IG-88, Dengar and Piett is nice, but when they don´t appear in another set their fabolous designs are sadly wasted on UCS collectors and I don´t plan on paying 20 per fig.
Quote of the period it takes me to think of another quote:

It´s all THEIR fault! And they are going to burn for it. BUUUURRRRRNNN!

Too bad. Would've been a great touch if they stuck a minifig in the greebling.

Blast, and I was so sure I had found all the little gimmicks Lucas added into the movies Posted Image

Well, now that I've heard about it, that would've been a nice little thing to add. TLC used to be good at those types of things.

Also now that I've heard about it, I want to see a screenie   Posted Image

Gimmick? Certainly not. This, my friend, is art!

If they had done this, it would have rivaled 'Come to the dark side... we have cookies!' as the best easter egg in a LEGO set.

Thanks.
Great to have a high resolution pic of the box.
The rest we've known for quite a while.
In fact the inventory picture in our first post comes from that site - I noticed that when I tried to figure out why the TIE Pilot had a "d" watermarked on him.
So obviously someone tried to edit out the German site's watermark at some point - not me though

ok so with the release of 10221 on 1st September will TLG rtelease a 2nd UCS set in November as they did last year?

Are there any rumours floating around? i was given the impression that there would be a 2nd UCS set this year when speaking to one of the Lego Design Team a while back.

Couldn't it be like a Midi-scale set since the use the term 'exclusive' rather than 'UCS' now?

I dunno, the best easter egg in a set IMO, would be the R2-D2 hieroglyph in the Indiana Jones "Well of Souls" set  :classic:

A A-Wing would be great. I like this ship. :)
I hope this time the underside will be well designed.

Not like 10215. Not like 10221 either.

As for the second UCS/exclusive, maybe it's that Jabba's Palace that's been all but forgotten.

I believe I asked when, not how... and funny that it was awarded after nearly a week of inactivity.

Back on topic: The miniature Imperator that is included with 10221 is actually a few studs too small. The model is 124cm long, so a properly scaled Imperator would be about 14 studs rather than 11. Anio said that the MINI Imperator he built to go with his Executor was to scale (it's about 15 studs, which is pretty close) so a good alternative would be to substitute that design into your display.

On the other hand, If you really like the Imperator that's included with the set, you could also rebuild the Executor model to a size of 97cm... but I can't see too many people doing that.
