Selander Posted July 11, 2010 The story behind the truck: Dkgreen is one of my favorite lego colors, so it was an easy choice for this new Mercedes MOC truck with crane. Also I think tan (and dktan) goes nicely together with dkgreen to form a nice looking combination. Crane design as seen by user Fistach, but here modofied and assembled between cab and tipper, as most Swedish trucks of this type have. Besides control sticks you find, on each side, crane supports that can be put in an upright position when not used. Mudguard flaps front and rear. Chrome fuel tanks. Red chassis. Tipper with sides of hinge train doors, and assembled on a plate so the tipper can be raised with the help of an old hinge plate 2x9. Pictures follows hereafter. All comments are welcome. SirWacky Posted July 11, 2010 Beautiful! At first I thought that your MOC was the little four wide truck but then I scrolled down and WOW Excellent job!

lightningtiger Posted July 11, 2010 AWESOME 'Selander' just really AWESOME ! Love the comic strip - very clever editing and now for the truck and it's crane - now that's the AWESOME part ! Mind if I use the crane idea ? I'm a conformist! !
prateek Posted July 11, 2010 Another Mercedes truck... Full of awesomeness! I love the crane, and the back container looks pretty cool too
Fires-storm Posted July 11, 2010 WOW, that truck is beautiful, I love the color scheme, and it looks like it just drove off the road and a magician turned it Lego instead I may have to use that cabin design at some point...and that crane. With proper credit, of course

XimenaPaulina Posted July 12, 2010 I love the dark green color on the truck! Great job once again Selander. The crane function is pretty good too.
Tycho McKorley Posted July 12, 2010 I think this is an excellent MOC. The dark green gives it a very mature look and feel and the train doors for the truck bed work really well.

peterab Posted July 12, 2010 I really like the truck Moc. Are the chrome fuel tanks Lego parts or chromebricks or third party? What part are they I don't recognise them but they look very usefull.
Selander Posted July 12, 2010 Thanks everyone, for your kind comments. I really like the truck Moc. Are the chrome fuel tanks Lego parts or chromebricks or third party? What part are they I don't recognise them but they look very usefull. I only use Lego original items. Chrome fuel tanks are Lego ref 45408, Vehicle, Gas Tank 2 x 4 with Two Pins. They are quite rare and only appeared in two (ugly) 4 Juniors set back in 2003. I bought 2x ref 4652 just to get my hands on these tanks.....

I'd never seen them before, they're a great part from otherwise very poor sets. I dont mind the windscreen in 4652, but other than that all the other parts in both sets are either pretty useless of very common (the wheels).

Klaus-Dieter Posted July 16, 2010 That's a completely amazing MOCset, Selander! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic! The most I like that you added green car doors, a tan loading platform and the crane. This would be a perfect set for us AFOLs as additions to our cities and for the JFOLs as a much action oriented set. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
