Hello everyone! My order from BL finally arrived so I'll try to make a review for you. Sorry to inform you but I bought the set without minifigs so I won't be able to make the review of them.

This set contains 210 parts and comes in 4 numbered bags and 2 small piece bags.

It was a present to my brother so he wanted to build it up and I didn't say no of course. (my RGS on its way anyway :D) So you'll see him on some pictures. :) He had some trouble about sorting out the pieces at first. :D There were many pieces which were new to him but he managed to built whole set himself. (He's 12 y.o)

The way they made the mudguards are really awesome, it really gives the look of a pick-up(I hope spelling is true) Also the pizza launcher feature works pretty well, we tried it on Han and Leia. :D

It was how it looks just before start making the front side of the truck.

There's a front look here.

And at last the set is complete! It took about 1 hour or a bit more to complete.

Now, let's see cons and pros of this set;

Pros;

-It's one of the best (maybe "the" best, not sure) pick-up/truck-like sets ever made by Lego! The way it looks is so real in some other way, I know there isnt much thing about a realistic look but I hope you got what I meant about looking real. :)

-It's scale is pretty good, It couldn't have been any bigger or smaller in my opinion, yes it is still big for City themed MOCs etc. but I have no desire on city sets or making a lego city so its not a problem for me. :D

Well, I don't really have much to say about it really so that is enough for pros.

Cons;

-It is a general con about Toy Story serie but still, the minifigs doesnt look like lego at all. I mean, come on, people say it wouldn't have looked that nice if they didn't put those detailed figs instead of lego figs but I think we can never know it. Anyway, you can take this as a personal thought instead of a con really.

-Doors of the car are a bit shaking. I mean, loose-like, but not that much. Pretty much the same as cargo place under the X-Wing.

Playability: 9/10 - Wheels look awesome but you can't really move car right or left while moving. (yeah that's the only bad thing about playability)

Design: 10/10 - It's very well designed. I didn't watch the movie but my brother did and he said that it is exactly the way it looks in the movies. And from my point of view, it has such a brilliant design with usage of some parts so smartly (mudguards, pizza launcher, back and front of the truck, etc etc.)

Price: 7/10 - It is even more expensive than the SW sets if we think about the price per piece. (and I don't really think the figs will be as expensive as SW figs)

Overall: 8.7/10 - I think it is a must buy set even if you are not a TS fan because that truck looks awesome.

Kind Regards, Burak.

How can you "review" the minifigs if you did not get them?

Can you show where did I review the minifigs?

edit: Oh I got your point. It is not really reviewing them, I just told my thoughts about them and the reasons why I didn't buy them.

I hope its clear enough. Thanks, Burak.

You didn't buy them because you don't like them? But it was a present to your brother....basically buying him an incomplete set. Explains the disappointed look on his face in the final image....

But NICE REVIEW!

Dharkan, I'm pretty sure your brother enjoyed building the set. Don't worry about others EB members thought on what you buy or not.

I enjoyed reading the review. It's a nice little set. The only Toy Story minifigures I got are the green soldiers, and I don't even like them :hmpf_bad:

I saw this set in my local TRU today. I thought it looked great parts wise.

But it's a Target exclusive in the US. :look:

Thanks for the review Dharkhan, anyways.

Ah, is that why I have only seen it in a Target stores in Oz, eh ?

Thanks 'Dharkhan' for the review - now tossing up buying this or western train - choice might be easy - pizza truck is half the price for the three figures my son wants since he already has Woody's Roundup !

I'm a conformist! everyone ! :sweet:

Hm, this was a bit harsh wasn't it? I think Dharkan should be encoraged for making the review. And a very personal such with the pics of his brother. I thougth that was very sincere.

And Patroleks comment was completely meaningless too! Not in the spirit of Eurobricks. As a newbie, you should have another attitude!

Dharkan - keep up the good work and don't let this guys bring you down.

Well, I was just questioning the logic of giving a kid an incomplete set and skipping parts of it like minifigs just because you personally don't like them.

I wasn't going to answer this but anyway, If its gonna make you happy, my brother didn't want them aswell, I'm not that greedy to buy an uncomplete set just to make it cheaper.

Hopefully this discussion won't go on anymore, Kind Regards, Burak.

Bear in mind that as the truck has a tow ball on the pizza shooter at the rear, you could attach a trailer to it!

That's a cool and very true idea. Unfortunately, however, there doesn't seem to be a set that has a trailer big enough for the truck! What a shame. It could have been even better with a small trailer included (although there wasn't one in the movie TS2.

IMHO, I like the TS figures. They're <insert that tiresome argument>, maybe even goofy-looking, but they are undeniably well sculpted and resemble their on-screen counterparts well. I especially love the LGMs and Rex! I may have to pick this up one day, just for the awesome pizza-launching mechanism.
