[KEY TOPIC] Official LEGO Sets made in LDD

Recommended Posts

-I could not find the water wheel (BL 64566) piece in the front so I replaced them with standard cogs instead. The pieces left on the side could not be placed becouse of that.

I can confirm BL 64566 is missing.

We already encounter that piece in Medieval Market Village.

7636 Combine Harvester

-At the end of the elevator a standard slope should be attached but I think that is an illegal build. I replaced it with a technic half pin and an inverted slope instead.

Great job on the model Anders. And I have reported the error as a connectivity issue to TLG. It should be a legal build. Normally you are not allowed to attach either a single round 1x1 plate to a technic hole (difficult for kids to take off), or a brick with multiple studs (like a 1x2 brick) (once again difficult for kids to take off), but this case should be all legal.

Index updated!

21 new sets have been added!

(4 of that already in the index)

Check your sets for errors!

@roamingstudio

What is, exactly, your "851/951 Tractor B Models", a parsonal variation or an official alternate model?

@roamingstudio

What is, exactly, your "851/951 Tractor B Models", a parsonal variation or an official alternate model?

The official B Models as supplied in the Lego instructions of the models. Many of the earlier Technic models had 'B' versions (alternates) which were interesting in some way... And hence my question: Are B Models (Alternate Models) to also be included in the archive?

Yes, and that's why I asked you about that.

As you can see, alternate models of Creator sets are indexed, so I'll add your alternate model in the same line of your main model.

Little index update.

@BrickWild

If the sets are identical, I'll report both numbers in the index.

Are there differences?

@All

Remember to respect thumbnail size suggested in the topic rules:

no more than 512 pixel for eight and width (even smaller if possible, for example for small sets), cutting out white stripes.

850 Technic Fork lift

850technicforklift.jpg

There are several changes:

Old technic bricks replaced with new ones alvailable in LDD:

- The wheels

- Crown wheel Z24

- steering wheel

- wheel for lifting the fork

Changes due to illeagal alignment in the original model:

- the "fork-tower" is lifted to fix horizontal alignment of cross-axels with tower. (thanks to DLuders).

- the fork is changed a little to fix tower/fork alignment.

The changes and the placing of the fork INSIDE the tower shown here and the lxf is here.

And yes I tried to insert an image directly in the post, but "insert image" only shows http:\\ and not local files.

You must use an image hosting service to upload your image on the net.

Then you have to tag the image link between [ img ] and [ /img ] tags (without internal spaces) inside your post.

As image service you can use for example imageshack, that provide image thumbnail and a ready code string for forums.

315 - European Taxie

Theme: BASIC > Large Vehicles

[Brickset] [Peeron] [BrickLink]

315_-_european_taxie.th.png

Download (LDD 4.2.5):

- Direct link HERE.

- More on my BrickShelf Gallery HERE.

- Visual Gallery HERE.

- Get the ZipPacks from HERE.

Known Inaccuracies:

- old 1x1 bricks with headlamp (3087c) are replaced with newer ones.

- The whole system around tires (7049, 7039) is "reimagined". Fortunately I found similar rims, so the final appearance is not too different.

- I replaced smooth tires (132-old) with the only tires that fits in the rims available.

- 1x1 bricks on the front in the original model are decorated with "Y" and "3" (3005pt3, 3005pty) instead than eyes!

Comments:

It should be the oldest set I've: still have pieces (excluding grey tires) and box, but no instructions.

Very beautiful set!

You can use this topic to book you works in LDD.

And remember to check both the index and the last pages of this topic to see if a set has already been made: index is not updated in real time, so that there are almost ever few sets not included in the index already.

In the firs post of the topic is reported (with link) the last indexed post.

Known Inaccuracies:

It is an old set, so missing pieces are not few. The list below could be incomplete.

- Baseplate (606p02) missing, replaced with a custom solution reconstructed with tiles and plates.

- Car's Tires system (122c01+3641/4084) completely replaced (4600+4624+3641).

- Antenna with Side Spokes (3144) replaced with a custom unconnected solution (3062+63965+4274+48729+4697)

- Slope 45 2x1 - without Bottom Tube (3040a) replaced with standard Slope 45 1x2 (3040)

- Plate, Modified 2x2 with Wheel Holder Bottom (8) replaced with wheel fork 2x2(2415)

- Main propeller of the copter (3462+3461) completely replaced (3023+3794+4274+2479)

- Rear propeller of the copter (3481+3480) completely replaced (3022+3794+3710)

- I used minifig head with hollow stud (3626b) instead than old type (3626a)

- Many decorations missing, replaced if possible.

Comments:

This is a lost set from my childhood. Still have many pieces from this set, but a bit of them are damaged and good pieces are not enough to resume it.

3739-1 Blacksmith Shop

3739-1.jpg

Changes:

--bad color fixed, many incorrect parts replaced now that they are available in LDD 4.5 they should be more accurate.

--front door was replaced with something very similar. I had to raise the 1x1x2 hinge brick by 1 plate because the door was hitting the studs on the baseplate. I left the second hinge brick in place for accuracy. (UPDATE: door still NOT in LDD 4.5 so not changed)

--Bugle still would not go on the clip by the stairs so it is sitting on the anvil.

--1x2x2 windows not correct

--2 minifigs do not have face or torso decoration and female minifig has different wig set, it's as close to original as I could get.

--flame element still won't fit in fireplace due to collision, same as bugle.

--Bugle would not go on the clip by the stairs so it is sitting on the anvil.

--4 gold coins would not go in the chest but they are included as well.

Regarding the bugle, that will not go on the clip because LDD (and maybe it's right this time) thinks it's going to intersect with the wall. Yet another example of designers slipping real builds into things that don't quite go where they're supposed to in LDD. This is primarily due to the fact that when building the real model, one finds that something will fit somewhere and therefore the designer has the final say on whether that piece gets put into the model because of that. Well, at least that's the way it seems to work, from what I can see - as an outsider I'm not sure if that's the whole story, though.

With the 4 gold coins you can slip the chest up underneath them to make 2 pairs of coins floating above each other but inside the chest. I recommend to use 1/2 offset jumper plates, bricks/plates under the chest to raise it a little, and a baseplate, temporarily underneath them. You may have to jack the baseplate down with bricks or plates first because LDD's geometry system has a "floor" plane, that is to say you can't by default place an object lower than the existing "floor" plane which is equal to the lowest brick in your model, tilted or otherwise.

To make your "floor" at a lower plane in LDD simply place a brick/plate in any open space on the existing "floor" plane then maneuver a brick/plate underneath that brick forcing the "floor" plane, and by association the plane which objects will by default be placed on if not attached to a structure or object, down.

Once you have got the chest and a gold piece floating inside the chest space in this manner, Ctrl-Click the chest and the coin you just got in, and then repeat for the other coins. As long as the floating objects inside the chest don't bump into it's walls in LDD they shouldn't get removed if you save and reload the model.

If this doesn't work, let me know, I have more tricks up my sleeve that may get the coins in the chest.

Cheers ...

6861 X1 Patrol Craft Theme: Space - Classic

only released in the USA. It was my first Lego set I owned so naturally I had a reason to recreate this.

6861-1.jpg

Updated with LDD 4.3.9 All previous "fixes" were removed since LDD included all the correct parts and printed torso added. Still no printed 2x3 slope.

I was pretty sure the right door was available in LDD... instead there is the bigger one only. :hmpf_bad:

About minifigs, LDD has the right wig for the lady. Beside, I think is better to find an adequate decoration id possible, instead than leave blank faces.
