What do you mean? The landing gear works perfectly fine for me.

Euhmmm.

I think I need to check this out since it works for you. Maybe I selected the wrong axis. And just to make sure, we are talking about the front wheel, right?

EDIT: And confirmed. Prateek vs. Superkalle: 1-0

7593 Toy Story Buzz's LightShip

BuzzLightShip.png

LXF File

What does not work

  • Canopy does not close properly (collision error)
  • The side elements of canopy cannot fit (collision error)
  • Mini-Zurg made from various elements
  • Mini-Buzz taken from Buzz Mini-Lightship (Prateek)
  • The 1x2 plate with clip (horizontal) are replaced with 1x1 clips (horizontal) and 1x1 plates
  • No stickers (as ever)

A second minor error is that the hinge tool did not like raising and lowering the rear ramp. Fixed manually.

As always all major play elements are grouped to aid construction (within LDD)

Edit

Updated to LDD 4

A lot of the colors you used are incorrect.

  • You used what looks like copper or some flesh color instead of Brick Yellow (tan) for his underbelly
  • You used Flame Yellowish Orange instead of Bright Yellow for his eyes
  • You used Bright Green instead of Dark Green (regular green) for most of his body
  • You also used Bright Green instead of Bright Yellowish Green (lime) for his spikes and some other parts. This is a tricky one for new users to get right since, for no explicable reason, Bright Yellowish Green isn't on the standard LEGO Universe color palette. You have to click View>New Themes>DesignByMe and create a lime piece like the minifig flipper to get the color. You can then use the eyedropper and paint bucket to change all the lime pieces to the same color as the flipper.
  • You used Dark Brown instead of Reddish Brown for his side stripe

Overall, though, you did a good job building him and hinging his legs. A handy tool that can help you with colors in the future is a color chart made by Superkalle which can be downloaded from this topic It is a zip file containing an Excel spreadsheet listing a bunch of colors in the order they appear in the palette, along with their Bricklink names, followed by some colors that aren't even in the standard LEGO Universe palette. There is also an LDD file with the colors represented as bricks in the exact same order. Sometimes before building a set I make a stack of bricks in all the colors from that file I will need, then place them and use the eyedropper tool whenever I want to color my parts any of those colors.

Meanwhile, here is a fixed version of your crocodile. Upload it to your Brickshelf and edit the link in your post, and that way the set can be properly indexed! I'll delete it from my own Brickshelf once you have put it on yours.

20015- crocodile (from brickmaster)

Hi Legolijntje

Welcome to the LDD Forum here at Eurobricks.

Great first attempt with the crocodile. I have that set myself and think it's just a little gem.

Aanchir gave you some good advice on chosing the correct colors, but otherwise your first model here in the topic is looking good :classic:

Thanks,

it's my first official ldd, and I already thought the colors were not properly, but all that green is almost the same  .

Thanks for the tip; I will change it.

Thanks, I saw them last thursday too. I'm already halfway through book 2.

EDIT :

And done:

10212 - UCS Imperial Shuttle

10212-ucs_lambda_shuttle.jpg

(I forgot the minifigs before I did the screenshot but I put some in the final file)

The 8M axle with stop couldn't fit in the notch of round the hole of a technic brick, so I had to replace them wit a normal 8M axle. And while the 4M Axle with stop did work, by the time I found it in the list, I already replaced it by standard 4M axle and it was too late to change them back.

Lastly, I had to build something to replace the 2x12x4 Windscreen which isn't available in LDD

Oh, And I couldn't put the technic stick on the bar for the front guns on the wings, so right now, they're floating in mid air.

Here's the lxf file

I like the fact that you went to the trouble of putting the lid on

It's pretty easy to, so might as well. One thing that bothers me is that you can't put the tools inside the cupboards :wacko:

Thanks for pointing these errors out. The first one was allready reported to TLG some time ago. The second one was new.

Technic Crane 855 / 955 (USA)

Inspired by LDDTechnician's Forklift truck, I decided to make the main model of the Lego Technic 855 / 955 mobile crane.

855-955-Crane.png

LXF File here

Thanks to LDDTechnician for the wheels, and idea to use green gears instead handles. Hopefully something which can be remedied in LDD 4.0 (?)

Errors:

  • The old axle ends with studs are replaced with the studdless Axle ends
  • The main boom does not lie flat (even in original model) and is a pig to get right in LDD. Hence the 'erect' version.
  • The axle end on the far side of the boom will not fit. This seems to be some form of boundary error as it works on the
  • There is no string - any help on using string tool in LDD?
    closer side.
  • The black turntable at the base is made from alternate parts - if anyone knows how to use large black turntable let me know
  • I could not find the back shutters for the compartments. I could only find 2x3 which is too large.
  • The end of the boom should have the two bricks separated by plates; but this causes a boundary error by the top gear. I replaced it with a gold coloured 1x6 technic beam (which works) and left the original parts at the back.
  • The model made use of the original 4 stud long universal joints. I have used the new 3 stud ones, and kept the axles at 8M long. IF you build this using new components, I would suggest replacing the 8M axles with 9M (if you can find them).
  • Trying to rotate the main jib on the base caused LDD to vanish.

As always the main elements are grouped to ease your model building. This is probably my favourite model - it was the one I always wanted as a child and never received.

If anyone has the original ideas instruction books I could also attempt the modification suggested to the large mobile crane - combining 855 and 850.

Great job on the 855/955 Technic crane! Note that the Lego Technic Idea Books 8888, 8889, 8890, and 8891 instruction scans are available from http://www.brickfactory.info/set/index.html . :classic:

Another quick one :

10026 - UCS Naboo Fighter

10026-ucs_naboo_fighter.jpg

Not a very intersting one, I must say. If it wasn't for the chrome pieces, I definitely wouldn't see anything attractive to it... Which is what we miss in the LDD version, so...

anyway, the stand is a little modified, due to a lack of certain parts in LDD.

851 / 951 Technic Tractor

Farmer Giles was getting on in his years, and was no-longer able to pilot his trusty tractor. Unbeknown to him, the naughty grand-children had started doing a MOD, starting with new wheels. However they were not very bright and found the front wheels could easily fall off due to the lack of friction on the axle.

851-951-Tractor.png

LXF file

Errors

  • The back wheels are wrong. Consequently the top mud guards are lifted up by 1x6 plate (underneath).
  • The rear tail light is an ilegal build in original model; so a modified element set is used.
  • The 3L universal joint is used instead of the 4L. But it still works.
  • The hinge plate (2x4) is replaced with some modified plates with handles and horizontal clips. But it does the job with the 3L universal joint
  • Front wheels have no friction grip to the axles. Perhaps LDD 4.0 will give us the piece?
  • As mentioned in another thread, it is NOT possible to place the brick studs into the large gears as required for some of the implements. I have used technic studs and reversed the bricks and plates to make the model.
  • The mono-wheel to 2x2 plate uses the new plate with holder and not the old style.

Thanks to Blakbird who pointed me in the right direction when the 851 instruction set went completely hay-bale, especially when the early poster version has many mistakes between steps.

The various tools and appliances will be added over the next few days.

I've got a few more entries for the index!

30011-1 Police Boat

30011-1_police_boat.png

LXF File

Inaccuracy: I could not find the new cap piece.

30012-1 Microlight

30012-1_microlight.png

LXF File

Inaccuracies: I could not find the proper torso print, and the propeller is not quite the same shape as the [new?] one in the instructions.

30013-1 Police Buggy

30013-1_police_buggy.png

LXF File

Inaccuracies: I could not find the new cap piece, and the rear mudguard doesn't have a hole in it (as the instructions show).

EDIT: All models in this post loaded fine in LDD4.

Hop, the final UCS set I didn't build yet (the ones I didn't do in LDD, I own, so I won't be doing them  )

7181 - UCS TIE Interceptor

7181-ucs_tie_interceptor.jpg

Somehow, I couldn't get the wings to connect to the main body, nor could I get the back section to fit either... but everything is there.

Ah no, I couldn't use the 8x8 grid plates, since we can't connect anything underneath like we can with the real one.

Still, next to the TIE Advanced, it feels a bit lacking. It's obvious it's a first generation UCS

EDIT : here is the LXF File

Wow. I haven't contributed in a while... I think I'm subconsciously waiting for 4.0 to come out. Still chugging out LDD comics though, so there's that at least... I guess. (I was pretty proud of the digital editing I used to make the storm trooper head look like a storm trooper head on Monday. It is an LDD storm trooper helmet, not a photo.)
