42006 - Excavator (Model B) - Technic

I could not place correctly a 2780 pin (see "Groups"). No idea why it did not fit.

Wow, that was an odd one. After a lot of fiddling around I noticed it's a bug in LDD, and it seems to be because of the 98989 has the small flanges/surfaces around the x-axle hole. Probably because of this the tech pin holes was set off-set when the digital brick was created.

Confirm that the 98989 is a bug part. You may temporary rotate the 98989 by 90 degree in place, but can not save and reload.

Hi, and welcome in the LDD Official Sets topic.

Your post is highly irregular, you should read the rules of the topic in the first page and fix it. Take a look at other regular entries could help you.

Main problems are: post is not well ordered and formatted, lxf file is missing, you should use file hosting site with hotlink support to upload images and lxf files (you can use brickshelf), images are oversized, an image is not cropped, set's data are incomplete and not highlighted, list of inaccuracies missing. Besides, try to avoid the gray background and maintain the alpha layer of LDD screenshots.

If you need any help, ask me.

In the meantime I remove the images from your post to avoid confusion.

Wow! I can't believe I'm not the only crazy one out there trying to build complete sets in LDD!!

Here are my sets so far:

10143 - Death Star II - Star Wars (Ultimate Collector Series)

Built using LDD v4.3.8

Divided in logical groups

All panels closed (had to manually realign the hinges)

Satellite dish in position

Errors:

Missing stickers

Replaced 59426 with 87083 to be able to close the panels

Removed one 44302 and one 44301 so I could fit the satellite dish

Removed a couple 32016 that didn't fit into 4790

Added an extra 4032 at the top so I could fit 50990

Replaced 3710 and 3021 from one of the panels with 3623 so that I could fit the satellite dish on top

10240 - Red Five X-Wing Starfighter - Star Wars

Built using LDD v4.3.8

Divided in logical groups

Cockpit and wings in open position

Working on this set, I once again realized just how many different LEGO elements there are that may be aesthetically and functionally identical, but have different piece IDs. Usually, this is because of a certain color, especially transparent colors. It's annoying and tedious, but I think I'm going to have to review my past set entries and make notes of errors and brick substitutions made because of this. You'll see in the errors section below that the first five substitutions made are examples of this.

Just so you know, where you used the color 217 Brown, the correct color should be 25 Earth Orange.

I would recommend viewing the set inventories on Brickset before those on Bricklink or Peeron, since Brickset's inventories are taken straight from the LEGO servers and are therefore very accurate regarding brick IDs and colors. Granted, they're almost never 100% complete either, so it's good to use Bricklink or Peeron is a back-up, but always check Brickset first.

Brickset had only about 66% of the 2 sets and zero part list of one of the set. Woefully incomplete and LEGO hasn't offered instruction that goes this far back yet so that might be why they can't get complete list from LEGO server.

It was a color used primarily in some BIONICLE sets between 2004 and 2006, such as 8604 Onewa. Beyond that, the color has seen little use in sets, I'm afraid. "Old Brown" is Earth Orange, and "New Brown" is Reddish Brown.

When you will fix images, remember that the one for the set 6024 is a bit oversized for such a small set!

What a confusion... New Brown is easy to understand, but I thought that Old Brown was the brown used before 2005/2006 in most of the classic sets. It is Earth Orange instead. Luckily I didn't built officila sets in recent times!
