I see what you are trying to say, but without these three minor adjustments there is:
- no way you are able to place the cockpit
- no way to have the wings tilted. If the wings stay perpendicular to the body you are not able to put on the top few plates and tiles of each wing, therefore changing the look of the model drastically
LDD has some issues with hinged parts. It is impossible to recreate some hinged effects what would be possible in real life build.
I think I stayed pretty close to the original asking a few sacrifices...
I think it should be OK to deviate from the instructions slightly; many models here do so. What you definitely should do no matter how loyal you are to the official build, though, is make a detailed record of any and every change you made, and include that record in your original post.
In my case, I'm obsessive about accuracy. I will rather leave a set incomplete than make the slightest variation from the official model. If I include replacement parts for unavailable parts, I try to make sure they are in a garish, obvious, and usually non-existent color, and I usually include them only as reminders that there are parts missing.
If I had built this set, I'd probably have left the wings detached until whatever bug was causing the problem had been fixed. Other builders like yourself prefer if the model gives a realistic impression of the completed set, even if that requires shortcuts and improvisations. I'm pretty sure, though, that as long as you make a detailed record of your changes in your original post, Calabar will still be willing to include it in the index.
