Super work on the index updates as usual, Mister Calabar! I know I have been responsible for a large part of the workload recently, but I'm afraid there's more.

I just can't stop!

@Stephan; your images aren't working. I don't know what's the poblem, it seems you deeplinked them correctly. Although the folder is still not public, the images should work :sceptic:
Any ideas?

Martian figures' parts missing:
58845, 58844 and 58843, replaced with custom bricks and "Life on Mars" figures' parts.

Tube End 58947 in LDD is slightly different from the part shown in the instructions and in Bricklink's picture, although they refer to the same id#.
The LDD part has 6 holes on each side, the Bricklink part has 5. Not a dramatic difference, but it causes a minor incoherence with the original design.

7015 - Viking Warrior challenges the Fenris Wolf - Theme: Vikings

...
  • Part 32310 won't attach to the wolf in the correct place.

It is actually possible to place part 32310 on the back of the wolf if you take advantage of a small gap between the axle and the lever. Remove 4519, 43857, 43093 and 2780 from the back of the wolf, then connect 32310 to 2M levers 41677 by means of a bar, for example 30374. Then set a 1 degree anticlockwise rotation for 32310, remove the bar and all other parts will fit.
If it can help here is the fixed file:   7015_fix.lxf

- Different minifig body decoration for ship's captain
- Truck: Red Technic Brick 1x1 placed aside due to illegal build in truck cabin (supposed to be between two Brick 1x1 with Four Knobs 4733)

Errors:
- martian figure non in LDD
- round signs 30261 are correctly placed but not connected
- a couple of wheels 6118 won't connect to the vehicle. The reason for that is the wrong positioning of brick 6249's pin inside the wheel (it goes too deep inside) so the wheel gets too near to the vehicle and collides with the slope brick. The same bug occurs to any Technic pin connecting to 6118.
- Missing all stickers and some decorations.

All the models in this post, with the exception of the last one (6037 Witch's Windship), are alternate models to previously-indexed Adventurers sets.  As such, the A Models are not listed.

5925 - Pontoon Plane (B Model: "Adventurer Hovercraft") - Theme: Adventurers / Amazon
[Bricklink] [Brickset]

Posted Image

5925 LXF

Notes:
- The Adventurer Hovercraft is an inspiration model provided on the back of the instructions for 5925 Pontoon Plane.  Instructions for the Adventurer Hovercraft are not included in 5925 Pontoon Plane itself, but have been provided in the January-February 1999 issue of LEGO Mania magazine.
- In the inspiration model photo and the final step of the instructions, the two 2412 Radiator Grille 1x2 bricks placed on the red 3022 Plate 2x2 brick are colored black.  However, in Step 6 of the instructions, they are colored light gray.  For this LXF, the light gray color is used, but either color is possible when using the inventory of 5925 Pontoon Plane.

Errors:
- Incorrect minifigure decorations
- 6069 Wedge 4 x 4 Triple without Stud Notches is not included in LDD and has been substituted with 48933 Roof Tile 4x2/18 W/Cor.

Errors:
- Incorrect minifigure decorations
- 4733 Brick 1x1 W. 4 Knobs cannot attach properly to 2458 Brick 1x2 W. Horizontal Snap, as this is most likely an illegal building technique.  As such, while the brick is correctly placed on the model using scaffolding, it is not attached to the rest of the model.
- 2625 Stem Plate 7X6 is not included in LDD and has been substituted with 50303 Stem Plate 7x6 W/Cor.
- 30057 Plate 1X1 Round has been substituted with 6141 Plate 1X1 Round

@PeabodySam
Looking at set 5987, are you sure that such a small builds are official alternative models?
Perhaps are these part of a single "alternative model?"
Look at the upper part of the last page of the instruction booklet.

Technically, all three alternate models can be built at the same time using only the pieces of 5987, as emphasized by a photo on the back cover where all three models are shown together (along with a couple of inspiration models with no known building instructions).  Would it be preferable, in this case, to combine the three models into a single LXF file?

Perhaps the best thing would be to create the whole scenario showed in the photo on the back cover.
Do you think you can do that?

I admit, it is a little pet project of mine that I've been working on, but the issue with this is that, with the exception of the three models provided in my above post, none of the models in the photo have any known instructions and are merely inspiration models.  The truck, which is more-or-less completely assembled as seen in the picture I just linked to, is included in LEGO Racers 2's car builder, but LEGO Racers 2 takes some liberties with the truck's design (for example, it uses more white bricks than actually available in 5987) and the chassis is pre-built, meaning that there are not even complete instructions for that.  On top of that, all scans of that photo that I can find on the internet (even on LEGO.com's official PDF file) are too grainy and low-res to be absolutely sure of everything in the model.  But, unfortunately, even if you were to give me the clearest possible photo straight from the LEGO vault and even pull out the original inspiration models designed by the set designers and hand them to me, there's one major flaw with all of this:

Quote

Set have to be constructed using official LEGO instructions and not interpreting preliminary or official images.

Unfortunately, aside from the three models with provided instructions, to recreate the entire scenario featuring these three models would require a lot of interpretation of a single official image, and that's forbidden by the second rule of this topic.

As I said, recreating the inspiration models in the photo is a little pet project of mine, so to answer your actual question, yes: I do think it's within the realm of possibility that I can do it.  However, I don't think that said pet project is fit for being indexed in this topic due to the amount of interpretation that is required by this task.  Since the three models which I posted do have official instructions and can be built simultaneously, would you prefer that I combine the three LXF files into a single file, or would you prefer keeping them separate?

@PeabodySam
You are right.
I gave only a look at the image and I thought that other models are those specified in the built instructions.
I've to discuss about this situation with other of the staff.
For now leave the post as is then, and add a note that models B, C and D can be built together.

That was a nice workaround :classic:
(In the meantime I reported the initial bug to TLG).

Errors:
- 4733 Brick 1x1 W. 4 Knobs cannot attach properly to 2458 Brick 1x2 W. Horizontal Snap, as this is most likely an illegal building technique.  As such, while the brick is correctly placed on the model using scaffolding, it is not attached to the rest of the model.
This is a tricky one in terms of illegal technique. From what I have learned it is not an illegal technique in the respect that there is constant compression on any part of the elemenets (the flanges of the 2458 fits inside the cavity of 4733). On the other hand it is not a "designed" connection, but a loose one, and therefore not supported in LDD. I'm not sure what to think myself of this one.

I agree, Superkalle. It's not designed, but creative and is used quite often and for some time now. I myself have come across several times, for example in the posted sets 4556Train Station (turnstile) and recently in 7994 LEGO City Harbour (navigation radar on port side of the ship's bridge roof).

7994 LXF
- Truck: Red Technic Brick 1x1 placed aside due to illegal build in truck cabin (supposed to be between two Brick 1x1 with Four Knobs 4733)
I actually got the red brick to fit. Just pick it up, and place it, and it will snap. Normally it's an illegal build, but sometimes you can make it snap in LDD; and this is such a case.
