You've found a lot of juciy brick errors that shall be reported

From what I can see in the instructions, it will fit if you just tilt the press-mechanism a few degrees. (which I think is how it's supposed to work, i.e. pressing on the light brick)

workaround/solution: You need to add a 4274 (technic pin with stud) first, so that the circular thingy has something to connect to.

Actually it can. The trick is to rotate 87957 so that it's inline with the slots on the monster back first. I know this sucks (LDD should auto orient the flames), but that's the way it is
