Le Vigilant

Recommended Posts

I started this 2 days after I took apart my first ship, The HMS Royale. I used some of the same features, but Incorperated some new things like the slanted stern, new sail arrengement, and another mast.

The name "Vigilant" is a french word meaning "A watchful eye" I thought it was a nice name for a Privateer.

Deeplinking didn't work for me, so I just put the links here. Enjoy!

A very nice build Captain! The coloursheme is really appealing to me. The sails are very nice too!

Your stern technique has improved a lot I see. Perhaps you can add a little more detail like flowers and such though, but the shape is very nice!

The two cannons at the back are a nice touch, and I like the figurehead. The French flag looks great too. :pir-wub:

I see you have some excellent reference sources! Master and Commander and Napoleon Total War! :pir-wub:

ummm, I'm kinda going back and forth between whether or not I should buy it. It recieved an 8 from 'the press', which is kinda on the line between buy and nye. Here is a review from IGN

If I were you I'd go for it, because I can see your interested in the Napoleonic Era, and likely strategy games...

Great ship 'CaptainKiwi' - fantastic number of sails and excellent colours, plus details right down to the row boat and the humble French captain. :pir-sweet:

Awesome build and I'm a conformist! 'CaptainKiwi' I'm a conformist! ! :pir-sweet:

I think it's quite fun for a strategy game. It takes some time to get used to it though.

Thanks for deeplinking my pictures!!! :pir-cry_happy:

I think it can't turn out very badly when you're using M&C and N:TW for reference.

And you have proved it  The stern is nice and so are the sails.

I also like the chess-pattern in the cabin (I've put it in my ship as well :pir-wink: )

I'm only missing the things to shut the gun ports with. For the rest it's great!

And do you have a crew yet?

I'll ask for it for my Birthday and yes, I'm a big strategy gamer. Age of Empires III etc.

It means that your ship has been featured on the Classic-Pirates blog :pir-classic:

A :pir-classic: ctually i prefer things without a tumble home evenn though less reallistic the sides always look more solid and tradinshonal (spellings wrong i know).
