501st Commando Posted March 11, 2010 This is my first castle MOC, and there is really no story behind it except that the outpost is about to be invaded. So here it is! Main pic. The bridge. A lazy knight. Another shot of the outpost. The outpost's interior. The orcs on their way to attack. The entrance of the outpost. Without the figs. Credit to DNL for the window design. lightningtiger Posted March 11, 2010 AWESOME MOC '501st Commando' - love that bridge - very clever design ! The use of tan legs in the walls of the outpost - fantastic ! Armoury too, very nice, but that guy better not step back too far and he'll land on those spears ! That knight under the tree - he let that troll past ! Fantastic build there '501st Commando' and I'm a conformist! !
Sir Fred Posted March 11, 2010 It looks nice. The outpost looks like it would hold up decently against that group of orcs if it weren't for the fact that the knights are all blind apparently. I like the ladder inside.
Uvga Posted March 11, 2010 Very nice. The knights look very sleepy
Santhor Posted March 11, 2010 Really great MOC there--love the cobbled roads, and the use of the king's legs on the sleeping guy. -Santhor
Jebediahs Posted March 11, 2010 Really neat bridge. Great subject matter. I like the lazy bum. Reminds me of the lazy peons back home... My favorite MOC. Good job! O-R-R-R-C-C!
FinalFeature Posted March 11, 2010 Very nice moc 501st Commando. How did you make the minifigure legs upside down ? I really like the bridge design, very nice job.
Danpb Posted March 11, 2010 Minifig legs for the window = awesome. Love it; nicely done :D
Athos Posted March 11, 2010 Nice bridge. I'm not sure about the windows. It doesn't look quite right here. They don't seem to be a part of the wall. But I think its a technique that could work well, if you played with it a bit. I think the building needs to be taller. Also you should give more room for the trolls. As they are now, it looks like they're standing in line waiting their turn to assault the fortress one at a time... Steve
501st Commando Posted March 11, 2010 Very nice moc 501st Commando. How did you make the minifigure legs upside down ? I really like the bridge design, very nice job. I used pins with the stud on them, and put them on the under part of the brick. @-Thanks for the comments everyone!
Big Cam Posted March 12, 2010 This is awesome. I really like the bridge, the curve is perfect. Also your technique for the window in the side of the outpost is a great idea. I'd love to see a full scale castle from you.
L-space Posted March 12, 2010 Great job. Nice bridge you made there and the combination of a tower with the pallisades looks great. Keep it up.
Christoph Posted March 12, 2010 Very nice. Although this outpost is overrun by orcs, I like that it looks so comical and thus peaceful. The sleeping knight, an orc in the tree (almost flying) and all knights look away (coincidentally), and the line of orcs: for me they look like laughing about this scene. Great! And as said above, the bridge and the leg-windows are very clever. The bridge, however, does'nt look very sturdy.
WhiteFang Posted March 14, 2010 It's so much better looking than my castle outpost, and yours is truly amazing, especially the bridge and foilage around the surroundings. I actually like the landscaping more than the outpost, but then again, your outpost is really nice looking. It will be even better if it's a little taller. BlueBard Posted March 15, 2010 Small but so wonderful! Nice design abd full of great details as the little bridge or the fence, and of course, the interior!

I still have to build up my light bley brick count first, but it's still on my WIP list. Very nice. Although this outpost is overrun by orcs, I like that it looks so comical and thus peaceful. You're right the bridge isn't very sturdy, but once in place it is stable. @-Thanks for the comments everyone!
