As you know, I've been working in my City Display for... well, I can't even remember  and now I'm just finishing the last module I've a terrible problem: I have no idea of what can be put in the backyard...

It's going to be some kind of music club (the kind of place where a group of music lovers use to meet regularly, nothing with girls and alcohol ) and I had the idea to put in the backyard of the house some boxes, big old speakers, old instruments, maybe a radio transmitor... What do you people think, what can I put there to fill that last place in my display with a bit of life?

Any ideas are welcome, and thanks a lot!

Sounds like you have some good ideas--what else are you looking for? How big of an area is it, and how much do you think will be filled by what you're planning?

Add some rubbish bins, the good old trash can or the larger dumpster? A cat, or some musician types loafing around?

Yep, I forgot that  It's just a little 8x16 area and it can be as filled as possible

Not bad ideas, but I've already filled some of the backyards with "rubbish" stuff  , the cat and leafing people have been already used  But thanks anyway

Make a swimming pool out of tiles or a swing set.

Oh, I totally forgot it was a club. If so, a DJ system would be cool.

Little outdoor stage with a couple small stage monitors (though you probably wouldn't want to leave those outside)?

Make it an old one with patches and all. Great way to combine by example brown with tan

Rathskellar outdoor stage

I fear I may have incorrectly inserted the link (there are always specific rules and each forum is different, my apologies), but when thinking about your music club and the backyard, a little mini stage with a picnic table or two might be nice. I know space might be limited, but a nice outdoor space to enjoy a fine beverage, some good food, and a band would be nice. The picture is from a restaurant/bar/live music venue in Indianapolis, IN named the Rathskellar. It is modeled in a European style on the inside, but the best part is this huge area out back where you can listen to live music and sample their beer selection. I love the look of the stage, thought it might be great for your music club, though I fear I may have misinterpreted your definition of a music club. Good luck, do post pictures when you figure out what to do.

How about a couple of skateboarders riding a ramp nearby or some taggers spraying up the back wall? Hey, how about a police squad car investigating something? Maybe photographing a crime scene or interviewing some seedy looking tough guys.

Maybe a TV crew interviewing the owner of the club? That would be cool too.

Thanks for your ideas! :classic:

Nevertheless here are some details for future propositions  : as I said on the first post it's going to be a music club, i.e. a place where music lovers use to meet regularly for playing and discussing about music, it's not a disco. The backyard is really small, actually a space of 8x16 studs, with high fences all around and tiled so, no garden or flowers and I'm afraid no place for "large" activities :sceptic:
