Hey, this is my first MOC so hopefully you weren't expecting an epic modular emporium but I think it's alright. All of the pieces used (except the cash register and glasses) are from the Orient Expedition Dragon Fortress. Sadly i was missing some needed pieces to re-build it so i decided to put the other bits to good use in my slowly growing City.

I used the instructions for the City Street Corner pizza shop as a reference for size and style.

Just want some opinions on if it blends in well with other city sets?

Hope you like it. Be nice it's my first time.

That's actually quite good 'Willdog' - the beige and red just gives it a whole different look - very chinese indeed !
The ground floor frontage is the best part - I like it !
Excellent design work 'Willdog' and keep on bricking ! :sweet:

I like it! You don't often see an alternate build of one set from the instructions of another, and in this case it turned out very nice. Not everything needs to be modular and huge, that's never been the point of town/city. Smaller but detailed creations like this with open backs are still appreciated and needed these days, so it's a pleasure to see this.

Welcome to EB, that's a nice way to introduce yourself.

Very nice. But I wonder if you put a smaller table in their could you two tables in the place. I am thinking booths here for the top floor. And I am thinking maybe their should be an oven or grill to cook the food also. And yes, I do think it blends in well with the other set.

Nice work, Willdog. Instantly recognizable as a Chinese restaurant.

However, I think the building's dimensions are too similiar to that of the pizzaria. In the real world, when buildings are side by side, they typically have different heights and depths. I suggest you apply this concept to your MOC as well.

Still, overall, good looking model. I love the arched doorway.

I like it! I agree that the dimensions may be too similar, but if you want to fix that, you needn't change the restaurant: just put the bike shop in between the pizzeria and the Chinese restaurant.

It really captures the feel of a good Chinese restaurant, with some Far-East decorations to draw people in. Very nice.

Very nice work Willdog!

To answer your question, my opinion is that it perfectly blends with the other city sets. It seems that it matches with the City Corner building great.

I really like the colour scheme and the columns you used fit just perfect! They really add to the overall chinese-oriental look.

Great work and welcome to EB! :classic:

Great MOC. I like the contrast with the City Corner. You can see the similarities but also the differences. Very nice.

Yeah i really wanted to put in some cooking equipment and some other tables. Booths sounds great. Though i was in a situation where i only had the pieces from the dragon fortress and other new city sets which i didn't really want to steal from.

My thoughts exactly!! It' a really nice building and will look great in your layout. It's a little different and will add a bit of choice and different flavours for your shopping strip.

I also agree with this. Just change the dimensions slightly and I think it will add that individuality to this building. It is a unique subject and has great details. Well done!! :sweet:

Looks great and I agree that not everything needs to be modular scale, but your model is nice enough that it requires some modular-style detailing like some tiling. I think it also needs a sign that is perpendicular to the front of the building so it can be read walking down the sidewalk. I do feel that if the two building were part of the same commercial development, different tenants but same building the sizes would be very similar.
