Great vignette that captures the actual scene quite well.

The decision to hide in a refigerator was smart thinking when he noticed that the "weather conditions" were changing and the artificial people began to melt.

I think this is perfectly feasible: The fridge was lead-lined ("for superior insulation". That cracked me up), which would prevent radiation from killing him, and it also wouldn't have melted because of the distance from the bomb and the high melting point of the materials that it was composed of. If he braced himself against the sides of the fridge, he could have prevented being banged around too much while flying, and he was far enough away from the bomb when he landed, and got away quick enough, that he wouldn't have gotten lethal doses of radiation. He could realistically have come out with some bruised elbows and a few rads in him as the only damage.

This is a spare, but nice, vignette. Your fridge is the perfect size.

This was one of the worst scenes in the movie! If it weren't for this, I honestly would have liked this movie, but honestly, Indiana Jones was never physically possibly, but this simply went beyond unbelievable. You'd need a lot more lead to stop a nuclear blast than that!

You captured the scene very well though, Sir Gecko. The ground looks perfect, and the inside of the refrigerator is great! I just realized, in the movie, shouldn't the refrigerator have had shelves? Oh well, very good vignette!

It did have shelves. Before Indy climbed into it, he threw the shelves and everything else inside it out.

Well... he can die, and we know that he does eventually get at least one serious, lasting injury sometime before he does (the loss of an eye), but we also know he lives until at least his early 90s.

Nice little vignette Sir Gecko. It's simple but to the point. I think the fridge is great, and the only way to make it a little better would be to create a fridge similar to the one from Fire Brigade. Otherwise, a clean, accurate, and funny scene.

I've always believed that with this scene in the movie, they should've tied in that Indy drank from the Holy Grail. Like they mentioned in 'Last Crusade' the Knights that drank from the Grail died of extreme old age. And we saw that pouring it over a 'mortal wound', instantly heals.
Since it's not known how much they (the Knights)drank from the 'cup', with Indy drinking about a cup full...we can take license and say he will live a bit longer than an average male...perhaps into his 90's or a 100 years OR longer..or we can say he never gets sick, ill, no disease, the rads from the 'atom blast' have little effect (no mutated cells, no cancer, etc.)...he heals fast, etc.

Do remember that according to the Grail knight, the Great Seal in the Grail temple is "the boundary, and the price, of immortality" - that means that one can drink from the Grail and live forever, but only if one stays in the temple, behind the seal. Once one crosses back over the seal one begins aging normally again. However, what you say may make sense, in that drinking from the Grail may put one in the best possible physical state for one's age at the time one drinks, healing any wounds or sickness, so that one leaves the temple in the best possible health (though presumably it doesn't do anything about old scars, obviously ;) ).

As I noted before, it's already been established in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles that Indy does indeed live at least into his early 90s. The framing segments featuring Old Indy in contemporary (1990s) times were excised from the show when it was reconfigured into The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, though, so the canon status of those scenes is no longer absolutely clear, but no new continuity elements have been introduced yet which supercede those scenes, and I believe they're still officially considered part of the canon... meaning Indy lives to quite a ripe old age, indeed.

Right on Blondie Wan about the 'Seal'...meaning those 2 Knights that left the Grail Temple don't get immortality but live to a 'ripe old age'.
I was hoping the writers would've tied in that Indy drinking from the Grail could possibly have helped him survive that Atomic Blast or make mentioned for a man of his age, in the movie, healed well from the blast and didn't absorb any radiation.
