Hello everybody!

Today I have a huge model, regarding my relations.

When you've seen the movie "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" you might remember Kazim's words:

"Your father is being held in the castle of Brunwald on the Austrian-German border."

That's exactly what I want to present to you today: Castle Brunwald. Maybe a few words about the castle are allowed before we start with the images. The filming location of Castle Brunwald is in Germany but at a completely different place as shown in the movie. The castle was modeled after Schloss Bürresheim in "Rheinland-Pfalz" near the city "Mayen".

For the use in the Indiana Jones movie, it was horizontally flipped, and an additional wing of the building was added alongside the forefront. This wing is a copy of the wall with the two towers on the right side, just a little bit lower. So it's clearly an at least semi-fictional castlewhich is unique in this movie.

Figuring out what the did and how they did it was not easy, and also the angles and corners of the castle are very tricky. I hope you can see some similarities to my bricked version. We'll start with a summary image with all views followed by some detailed angles. I will provide the link to the full gallery as soon as it's been moderated.

The castle creation uses my only 32x32 green baseplate I own. It's quite old. Unlike many advanced micro castle builders I was not able to provide one of those lovely marbeled SNOT grounds, and rock formations. My parts stock is simply not sufficient for such things. I went with a simple wood and river (where they fool the guards by a faked escape in boats) in classic studs building style.

That's it. You've seen my interpretation of Castle Brunwald for which reference material is rather rare.

Mini scale so cool, but I too was looking for a stud to be Indy. Very cool.

I was hoping for full-scale version, but mini is nice as well. Great work, as far as I can tell from the pictures, this is pretty accurate. I really like the trees- I don't think I've ever seen that piece you used for the green part before. Great watermill and stream, too.

Can we expect more MINI Indy MOCs soon?

This is just another proof for that. Your creations in so many varyed areas is just great.
Brunwald Castle is really great. The trees is just brilliant.
The two towers with the round plates and lever bases is very good, and gives an accurate look to the real thing.
The little church is just so cute

I am glad you like the details for the towers and trees, and the church From time to time I build also miniaturized buildings to answer a question from above. I have one more Indiana miniatur location in mind, being Petra City from the ending scene of "The Last Crusade". I am gathering more tan pieces at the moment.

I hate to repeat other people but, those trees are just awesome. If I delve into microscale territory, I know who to look at for ideas (which I will cite.)

The trees are intended to be easy to make and simple decorations for mini-scaled dioramas. I liked the octagonal cone much better than the rounded cone, and those are also plenty available at cheap prices.
