Great review, and a good set too, I guess I will get this one. Maybe I can turn it into a TIE Phantom.
Just call me Rob.

Not a fan of the design here at all.  It just seems odd, like..  why would something like that ever exist, what purpose could the three arced wings possibly serve?
Reminds me very much of a lot of the fan made starships you see for Star Trek, just overly designed and silly looking.

Still, if you are a fan of it, and it seems many people are, then I'm sure it'd be a fun set.
And I do really love the new pilot mold.

Hummm, well, it's Star Wars.    It does not seems more "unreal" to me than the standard TIE fighter, or the Tantive IV... Overall, I like the set, overpriced for sure, but I think that it can be easlily converted in a more standard TIE Interceptor... And the new pilot rocks !

No offense Penitent !

Thanks for the review Cardinal Brick

I think the design is really accurate. Back in the days (1994) I loved flying it in the PC game "TIE Fighter" as Maarek Stele... those were the good ol' days  :cry_happy:  Maybe TLC will do an Assault Gunboat next

Although the set is a bit pricy it's a no-brainer for me. I love the new helmet.

The Wings
You're going to be building six of these however each of them doesn't take long and they don't look that bad when they're completed. These take up all the part that are provided in bag '2'

Parts 7/10 (A limited selection of parts.)
Thanks for the review, Cardinal Brick.
Could you please confirm if the parts connecting the wings to the cockpit are new?
I mean these ones:

RoscoPC not a new part, but it's newish it's had a couple of outinge is space police sets so far you can see it on Bricklink.

To all the Assault Gunboat/Tie Fighter (game) fans, I wonder if we should petition Lego to give us one next year?

That's probably why they don't give us what we want very often. Because when they do, we ask for a load more obscure stuff.
