Aaah, finally! A WIP ship!!! I thought I'd never see one of these - great build, Philipp! And it's not just the ship that looks good to me - the scenery (waterfall! ) is perfect as well and I absolutely love how your town turned out - I'd even go as far saying that to me this is one of the best-looking towns we've seen so far in this contest, regardless of its size.

As to the build itself - whoa, there's so much activity it's really hard to focus on separate details! I've been looking through your MOCpages presentation for the last 5 minutes and the photos are getting more and more numerous... So I won't go into details and just say I absolutely love this MOC. Having so much going on has a downside, of course - you can't really show everything by just taking a few shots, but then again that's so typical of you MOC experts

I was looking forward to your entry and it doesnt dissapoint. What a great idea, i was planning on building a shipyard  moc down the line myself, but you've beat me to it.   This is excellent, theres a great amount of detail throughout, with so many different things going on. Your town looks great, as does your landscaping and ship. I am a big fan of your ship building technique, which i think works wonderfully here. Great entry and  deffinitly prize worthy!

Thanks for this, and I'm glad to made this. The first idea for this came from bonaparte in the PTV2 contest thread. I've another ideas but this one was the best one. And the first rough plan was done very quick. But finally it drain out some kind of parts, so brown tile, dark grey tile and such a thing. Unfortunately this is the reason why the crane construction is done with normal plates.

Thank you, this from you is a big confirmation for this. This new ship was build with the same technique but now it's complete till the end of the bridge.
This is a very beautiful variant to build a small bridge but the whole process to the ready shiphull was very .... annoying. In this ready status the whole ship is very strong, but on the way .... oh my god ^^

Mind-blowing detail!!

I love the stands for the ship and the Work in progress happening on the shoreline.  The cobblesotne road is superb as well as the coastline, it looks great from above and SNOT

So many great last minute entries. Again, a very nice idea for this contest (although not as original as Blackmoor's stranded ship, but still nice). I really like all the 'life' around the ship. And the building is also really well done.

The only negative thing I can think of here is that I believe those ships were usually built on slopes for the launching.
But for the rest you did an amazing job on this. Your ship is really magnificent! It's shape is perfect
The saw is also great, as well as the piano.
It's just full of nice details

WOW.  This is a very special MOC.  I don't think I have ever seen a more complete representation of a ship being built.  All the details and even a little town to surround the shipyard is very impressive.  One of the top entries in the heavy weight division for sure!

Very nice MOC.  Great departure from the normal port with ship in harbor approach.  My only suggestion is having the sand have a little more variety.  A.k.a, a little more texture added in it.  Overall great last minute entry.

Yeah your are so right, a friend of mine look at it and the first thing was: "On which way will it launch?? Moeoeoep!" That's one of the bitter pills they have to take on this temporarily "shipyard"

I want increase more single stones like the few near the water, but ALL 1x1 round plates (with a good color) are used.    This entrys base was much more smaller than my old island, but so much more intense in special parts.
My problem is that I have bought all castles and a bit kg ware at the beginning of 2009 and the most of it are oldschool with the old color theme. Need more new Lego

It is very funny but also difficult to built a building where no stone should look like another near him. And it is surprising how many possibilities there are.

There are so many lovely aspects to this MOC. I love the beach, the rocks, the houses, the ship on the land, and well all the other bricks you used!

My dear maydayartist, this is exactly the kind of MOCs that I had in my mind when we came up with the idea for PTV2.

I don't think that a ship build in progress has already been depicted in a MOC, and certainly not with so much beauty.

I'm totally in love with your entry! It really looks like it's all in motion, the men are cutting the tree in into parts, the piano is put into the great cabin, ... . And all this surrounded by a lovely town with a beautiful waterfall in the background.

Personally, I don't think this is such a big problem. It was a common thing for rails to be implemented after a ship was built so that she could be launched in the proper direction - and those can definitely be included here as well, so don't worry about that mate :)

This entry is definitly worth it to leave [readonly-mode].   Plenty of details and the way you implement them is really awesome. Everything looks so lively  
You certainly got my vote. (besides Derfel Cardarn of course! The third will probably be TGI-ISC although his topic does not exactly fit PTVII-theme imho)
