I am SO NOT into the 2009 Pirates, but this review makes me really really want to buy this set!
And knowing me, I´ll grab all the other Pirate sets as well then...

Great set and a great, detailed review! I see many cool little things that make this set even better than I thought.

I'll wait with my final judgement until I get one myself, but for now I guess that, after 20 years, Lego has finally released a ship that oficially beats Black Seas Barracuda which has so far always been an undisputable #1 for me. And I even see an irony in it, as BSB was the first ever ship of the Pirate theme (along with Caribbean Clipper of course) and this may very well be the last one ever.

Amazing review. Pirates isn't my favourite Lego line but this is a definite must-buy for me sooner or later. It just looks so good! Though I think a more accurate term would be "Brickbeard just pooped his deck" (hurrr)

Great review Svelte! There are so many nice details here, and I love the off-white, subtle sails. Shame about the prow being a bit weak...but the Captain has an organ! How much fun could a discerning adult have with that? Brilliant!!! :pir_laugh2:

Is the doughter's dress regular blue or light blue?

Great review.
The organ isn't as big as what I thought it would be.
You've certainly wet my appetite for the one of a kind ship.

Yes, he has a large organ which he likes to operate when noone's around.

What with that enormous organ, I'm not sure if this really is poison or the Captain's lubricant of some kind.

Very slick... And I don't mean the captain's organ. :pir_laugh2:

My thoughts exactly... :pir-wink:
I was also hoping for a seamen joke in that review... Oh well.

Anyhoo... Great review! I like this set, but I'm afraid this review hasn't convinced me to buy it. I'd wish they'd gone full out on sailors, cannons, rigging and the such. As it is now, it's just a little too bare for me.

OMG, this ship is amazing. I had no idea it was so huge. I wish I had the money to get this set.

Svelte, your review is spot on RA approved, the pics are brilliantly clear and you certainly covered everything. I love the pics.

I love how wide the ship is, it looks like there is so much more playability, plujs the height is just stunning. I may seriously consider getting this around Christmas time.

Excellent review and thank you for showing me the ins adn outs of this set.

Svelte is a lucky man. What a great Christmas present. I can't believe you were able to get one so early.
Very nice review. I'd like to place this on my fire place once built. Packed w/ details, it truly is a fantastic set!
Thanks for sharing Svelte. I'm envious. :pir-wub:

:pir_laugh2: LMAO... I guess I read over the review to quickly.

In the spirit over Dr. Evil (Austin Powers movie), you can hear Governor Broadside say: "Welcome to my Imperial Flagship*, it's long, hard, and full of seamen."

* in the movie it's Dr. Evil's 'submarine lair'.
