Okay, I don't think this has been brought up before, or whether it is right for this forum, but here it goes.

I was thinking, wouldn't it be great if there was a Eurobricks Application for iPods / iPhones.

I have an iPhone, and I am constantly irratated by not being able to upload photos from it, or use certain features, when on EB using Safari.

More and more I am using my phone for things, so I thought, ' wouldn't it be so much simpler? '.

Okay, I have no idea about the costs of development, or thow time consuming it is, but wouldn't it be great??? :classic:

I'm a moderator on clubrsx and this was asked of us for years and we finally made it and people like it but with todays phone web browsers getting better and better, it's not really necessary.

Plus things like uploading pictures wouldnt be solved with an app, that's the mighty iphones limitation.

I have a blackberry and I browse the forums all the time with the native web browser.

I'm not saying they should'nt make it, but for the time required to code it, I doubt would be worth it for the EB team.

True, but for the photos, a Facebook app style upload directly from your album would be amazing.

I don't really see the point as most photos are hosted elsewhere. I know flickr has an uploader app for blackberry.

Or am I misunderstanding you. Do you want to uploiad photos to Eurobricks? Or post pictures on Eurobricks that are hosted on a different site like brickshelf or flickr?

I don't get it either. I never upload anything directly to EB- I have no idea how much it can actually store. I'd much rather use Flickr or Bricklink, and then post them to EB from there.
True happiness: looking inside the box to see a perfectly flat instruction manual.

I mean it would be great if I could upload photos directly from my iPhone, as on Facebook.

That would be so cool! I really like to browse the internet off my iPod touch especially EB. Its hard for me to reply on my iPod though so a reply part to it would be great.

You would have to get a really good coder though

It's not going to happen. I'm pretty much the resident programmer on EB and I wouldn't do it as I don't like Apple products. (Long harbored resentment over the deliberate bad support for the Apple II line so the Mac line could get started.) Besides, if the iPhone/iPod Touch is as good as people say it is then there is no need for it. If you have problems with your iPhone being inadequate, take it up with Apple or buy a better phone. I used to be able to upload files from my Treo 600, no special App needed.
