ENTERED

Here is my entry for Category 1.

I never liked the various Hogwarts Express trains that LEGO put out so I decided to create my own. Drawing on inspiration from those various Hogwarts Express sets, the Emerald Night and various images of the actual engine, tender and coaches, this is what I came up with. I hope you like it. It's not the best picture but I think you get the idea. I will be posting more pics to my Brickshelf account.

Looks great, I never really liked the official sets either. I would recommend taking more pictures, maybe with a better background though so that everyone can see the train better.

“Tell me one last thing,” said Harry. “Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?”
“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”

I also never liked the original design of lego. That's why I build this one:

It's based on this set:

If it was an official set, I would now be running off to a store to get it! Lovely!

nice, but in my oppion it dosent capture the looks of the castle class, change the front to the curve that they have.

Thanks for all the great advice!

Here is the link to my Brickshelf folder which shows more detail on the engine, tender and coaches:

It might not look like a Castle class, but it does look a bit like a Hall! "Hogwarts Castle" seen in the films is actually 5972 Olton Hall.

Very nice work Gary. One day Lego train sets will look like this sort of thing hopefully (but with PF).

ah, halls and castles look nearly the same and the names missleading.
but the halls also have the curved front.
