So who else saw Legend of Korra last weekend on KorraNation.com? It's no longer up unfortunately, but they premiered the first two episodes there early as a reward for getting above a certain threshold in Facebook likes/shares. The series will be making its official television premiere on April 15, and I'm very excited from the episodes I've seen so far. The series has so much potential and I can't wait to see what kind of fun is in store.

Crud, I missed it! :cry_sad:
If any of you guys find a link to the episodes, HMU.

For my review of the new Regular Show episode, Videogame Wizard:
Spoiler
I give it a 7.75/10.

For the newest MLP episode, Ponyville Confidential:
Spoiler
Overall, I give the episode an 7.5/10.

The first one and a half episodes of Korra are now available on Nick.com. Great stuff. It has a very different feel than ATLA and yet it's just as enjoyable and fits into the Avatarverse perfectly! Same outstanding animation, same good writing, same great humor, same awesome action, etc.
Spoiler

Ultimate Spider-Man turned out to be pretty good too. It's campier than I expected, but that's not necessarily a bad thing since I was laughing out loud several times during the two pilot episodes thanks to the very random, Family Guy style cut-away gags. The animation is good (admittedly better than Spectacular Spider-Man) and the story is promising. I'm curious to see how it pans out.

The latest Young Justice episodes are pretty good too as they do seem to be getting darker and deeper. Haven't gotten around to watching Green Lantern and Thundercats yet. South Park is funny as usual.

As for the latest MLP episodes, they were alright. Hurricane Fluttershy was pretty darn adorable and a much better episode than the Iron Will one. Even the CMC episode last weekend was more bearable than usual since the Mane 6 and other characters got a decent amount of screen time, and I actually felt bad for the CMC. They sure are getting desperate, aren't they?

Man, the MLP episodes are getting more disappointing every episode.
For the newest episode MMMystery on the Friendship Express
Spoiler
Overall, I give this episode a 7.25/10.

I finally managed to see the first 2 episodes of The Legend of Korra in 720p, and they were glorious! I am so excited for this series. I'm overjoyed that they managed to retain that quality and sense of awesomeness from the original Avatar series, I was worried that The Legend of Korra wouldn't live up to it, but it entirely did. I have high expectations for this series.

I'm also beginning to get into this whole crazy thing called 'anime'... Yes, I got a few anime series from some friends and have been giving them a watch. I'm starting with Samurai Champloo, with Cowboy Bebop and Death Note lined up for after.

I'm also quite interested in the Hellsing Ultimate series, but after watching the 'abridged' versions I think I'd be disappointed. I highly recommend anime fans give them a watch, there's only 2 episodes at 10 and 15 minutes each, and they're damn hilarious. Hey, I'll even link them for ya.

I have not yet checked out Legend of Korra, as I am too worried that it will fail to meet expectations. I have heard a lot of good things about the first two episodes, but I worry that the formula has changed too much. Not that I am against the tech, the rate of advancements makes sense to me. But an aggressive Avatar just feels wrong to me, especially after so much time with Aang. I will still watch it of course.

I would suggest you check out Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, as it is the single greatest creation in the history of mankind. Some might say that is a little to strong, but it was the only Anime I really got into. It just made me feel so...alive. I can't describe it better than that, but I firmly recommend checking it out.

And so Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes returned, and I was met with disappointment that the voiceover still covers up the opening theme. Still, Doom was awesome.

Oh, come on man. I don't want to over-hype it, but trust me when I say it doesn't disappoint. Give it a watch already.

Alright, thanks, I'll take your word for that. I've definitely heard of Fullmetal Alchemist before, and Brotherhood has been mentioned to me previously, so I'll add it to the list.

I've also heard mention of Code Geass and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Has anyone here seen them and can tell me if it's worth watching, and where I should start with each series?

Yeah my sister is trying to get me to look at Korra too, and I am interested too.

I tried to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion once, but it wasn't too appealing to me. The pace seemed kind of off, and I couldn't really get into it. From what I hear the ending was kind of a mind-screw also. I think the Rebuild of Evangelion is said to make more sense, but I am not an expert.

Spoiler
Overall, I give Welcome to Republic City a 9.25/10. It was a great series opener. :sweet:
Now for the second episode, A Leaf in the Wind.
Spoiler
I give it an 8.5/10. :classic:

iamded, from the excellent anime you listed I would reccomend The Big O (ha ha, silly name yeah yeah) same sort of style and was the anime that got me into anime in a big way.

Cheers Peppy, I'll add it to the list. :sweet:
I finished up Samurai Champloo and saw the first episode of Cowboy Bebop. Looks to be interesting, the basic theme reminds me a tad of Firefly (being space cowboys and all).
I really enjoyed Samurai Champloo. I very much liked the characters of Mugen and Jin, although I may be biased with Mugen since I'm a huge fan of Steve Blum. It was a good series and I'm glad to have discovered it.

My Good Sir. Firefly took it's cues from Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star. Maybe why I only ever watched it once and now can't be bothered to ever again....

Wolfs Rain is another good one, bit different but nevertheless a decent watch.

Interesting! Well I did love Firefly, so I'll jump on Cowboy Bebop and ad Outlaw Star to the list. Wolfs Rain sounds interesting, on the list it goes.
I should have known to go straight to Peppy for advise about anime.

Not sure why everyone's posting in spoilers, but anyway:
Spoiler

You know, it's funny; ever since I started watching this show I have become aware just how many characters Tara Strong voices! It feels like I hear her whatever cartoon I watch!  In one of the recent episodes of Green Lantern, she voiced a purple-haired princess, and I kept thinking that Hal Jordan was talking to Twilight!

Is anybody else watching Ultimate Spider-Man (which also features Tara Strong by the way)? I kinda like it; the animation is pretty good and some of the jokes are funny, but it feels like they're putting too much emphasis on the jokes. :sceptic:  Anybody agree?

Tara Strong is everywhere, I've got an ear for voices and it makes things very funny sometimes (Shining Armor the Super Duper Sumo anyone? Flim the Stormhawk and Dark Ace?) So there we go

I've started hearing Steve Blum everywhere. His voice is so iconic, you hear a character speak and you know straight away, "Yep, that's Steve Blum". I first started picking it up after hearing him in several video games (Call of Duty, Bulletstorm, Dead Island), and then the first two anime series I start watching - Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop - he voices a main character. He's got quite the filmography, he does...

My favorite episode from season 2 of MLP:FiM was either Sisterhooves Social, because I really can relate to sibling difficulties and it was a very heartfelt episode through-and-through, or Ponyville Confidential, because it's nice to see an episode related to media ethics, and it was one of the best CMC episodes in my opinion.

Most BIONICLE fans recognized Shining Armor as Jaller from the movie BIONICLE: Mask of Light, and another prominent character in the episode as Roodaka from BIONICLE 3: Web of Shadows. This blog on BZPower includes a hilarious audio mashup of quotes from Jaller and Shining Armor, along with a list of MLP voice actors who were in the BIONICLE movies.
