I've merged this in the normal sr3d topic, since other bugs, problems and questions are reported here too :classic:

thanks
unfortunately it is a big problem to uninstall all direct X components on my pc. and reinstalling the system is no option because the included direct X is newer than the recommended 9.29
any other ideas?

DirectX 10-11 are not an update of DirectX 9, but a separated library. You have to install both of them.

a newer or equal version of directX is allready installed. an installation is not neccessary
does anyone has sr3d installed on a Win7 x64 personal computer?

Yep! I do, but I installed DirectX9 early on when using it, so I'm not sure if SR 3D Builder would work without it, though. I had no such error message poppinng up when I installed DX9.

You just have to follow the link on my web page to be redirect to correct Microsoft download page.
Please notice that you are not going to install DirectX 9.x, you are going to install a DirectX update of directx library of any previous version.

Do not search Microsoft for DirectX 9.x install. Just follow the proposed link (now copied here) and choose appropriate language if different from default
http://www.microsoft...6a-9b6652cd92a3

I just tested the above link and it works!

Well, the message says: a newer or equal version of directX is allready installed. an installation is not neccessary.
So, maybe you already have DirectX 9, but it is corrupt?

i had installed it on my old system which was running since 5 years and it worked fine. now i have a one week old windows 7 X64 service pack 1 with included Direct X 11 and at every older directx version the installation stops with the message: a newer or equal version of directX is allready installed. an installation is not neccessary.
there are some possibilitys to uninstall directX completely, but i dont want risk my fresh activated windows, for a software which  i only need because the flexaxles. what is so special at this 9.29 that the sr3d dont work without it? even closing sr3d is impossible without the taskmanager. do i  need in five years with windows 9 and directX 13 the directX 9.29 too, or did you somewhere in the future update the resources of this gorgeous software?
sorry for the harsh words but you shouldnt forget the people which are not pc experts.

That's weird. A few weeks ago, I wiped out my whole pc (hard disk) to start with a fresh windows 7 64 bit (also SP 1 and DirectX) and I normally installed DirectX 9....

i dont know why, but my win7 seems to dont want older versions of programs. actual versions are not a problem, but for example the dot net framework 2.0 is hard to install too. maybe my systembuilder version is the problem.

You can't install DirectX 9 on Windows 7, but you can install DirectX 9.0c which is a special compatability version that sits alongside 10/11. Make sure you have that download.

You don't need .NET framework 2.0, the newest (4.0 or 4.5 I believe) works too. Because it has backwards compatibility

DirectX 9.0c exists much earlier than Win7 or DX10. From 2004, if I'm not wrong.
It is not a special version, simply the last version of the "old" DirecX (pre DX10).

NET Framework v4 or v4.5 don't include previous versions, while NET Framework v3.5 includes v3 and v2.

That is very, very strange, because I installed DirectX 9 on a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit computer and it worked fine, I can't be sure, but I think SR 3D Builder worked properly before that as well. I installed DX9 in order to run a different programme.
I seem to have said this before. Did you try downloading the package and installing it from your computer?

Well, on my newly fresh windows 7, SR3D Builder didn't worked with DirectX 11 and .NET Framework 4.5, but it does work with DirectX 9 and .NET Framework 4.5...
