So, this is really a general topic about all of the Call of Duty games, both core games and expansions and spin-offs. Personally, these are the best FPS's I have ever played (next to Half-Life 2). The gameplay is both fun and efficient, with challenging missions that aren't too complicated. The graphics are really well done, and the AI characters are generally smart enough to make the game fun. Unlike a lot of shooters where it is a one-man game, your squad does a lot to help you, especially as the series has progressed. Also, they did a good job changing each version so they weren't so repetitive. Also, the story moves the game along while not making it essential to the whole game. Here is my review of the ones I have played.

Call of Duty: Great game. The gameplay is really well designed, and for the time it game out the graphics are great. Really good portrayal of WWII. The only bad thing is the health bar.
Call of Duty: United Offensive: Great expansion. They did a great job adding a whole new story and setting as well as adding a few new features to add variety.
Call of Duty 2: Even better than the first. The graphics improved a lot as well as the AI characters. I love how they got rid of the health bar. Also, the story was made even better.
COD 3: I have only played it on the Wii, and it was pretty bad. In general, the Wii has poor graphics, and playing a COD game on it doesn't work. The controls were hard and the story was pretty poor. I only played one level before calling it quits.
COD 4: WOW! Probably one of the best games I have ever played. The graphics are amazing, and the story is a lot more engaging and creative. The modern take on it has made the game a lot more fun with better weapons and an overall new experience.

Infinity Ward developed COD, COD 2, and COD 4, and I have found that these are the best games in the series. I have not played COD 5 or a few other expansions, but I have heard that 5 was just ok and the others weren't that great. 3 was developed by another company, and it was pretty bad.

Overall, these are really great games. They are great simulations of war, and the graphics, gameplay, and story are always great and getting better. They aren't overly graphic, and honestly I cannot understand why COD 4 was rated M. If you turn the blood off, it is just like the previous games, except with a little bit of language. Still, probably the fact that it is so much more realistic and modern got it the higher rating. I cannot wait until Modern Warfare 2. I am just worried that my PC won't be able to run it.

Finaly A CoD topic! I never played any Cod games except Cod 4. For me, Cod 4 is the best game ive ever played. I havent touched my other games since I got it. Love the characters, Love the online, Love the gameplay. Online I have all the golden weapons.
I borrowed Cod WaW from a friend and the game was alright. The only good thing was nazi zombies, which got borring pretty fast.
Has anyone seen the Modern Warfare 2 (Cod was removed from title for unknown reasons) gameplay and trailers? I've tried to keep up to date with them.

The call of duty games are definitely some of the best FPS out there. No Doubt. My boss got me into COD modern warfare. One of my favorites. haven't played in a while though (360 has the dreaded 3 rings of death).
I love the detail and graphics. Multiplayer is probably the best out of any FPS I've played. Zombie mode is one of my favorites. Good way to release some stress!

What i like is the harder it gets, the more strategy you need to survive. Leading people into certain corridors, setting bombs to protect yourself... Makes for fantastic game play.

Modern Warfare 2 looks to be amazing. The snowmobile sequence that they have released looks really cool. Also, it appears that there are parts in Africa dealing with Warlords there, which is pretty sweet. I think COD 4 really brought the series into the mainstream. While 1 and 2 were popular, 4 was simply amazing and sold like crazy. Part of it I think was the modern setting and part of it was the multiplayer aspect that the previous ones didn't really have.

I absolutely love the series. COD 4 was the first one that I got, and it is still my favorite game ever. The graphics are superb, and the single player campaign has some really thrilling moments. Multiplayer is excellent as well, and keeps you interested in the game. A game needs good multiplayer to last a long time that's for sure.

COD World at War was another great game, but I don't like it as much as I do number 4, mainly because I prefer the modern feel of 4.

I am so excited for Modern Warfare 2. The snow level that I saw a video of had a similar effect on me as the "Ghilllie in the Mist" video I saw last year for COD 4. It just looks so dramatic, and as always the graphics are superb. It's interesting that Soap is now your boss.

Only have to wait until November now!

I was thinking how funny it would be if Modern Warfare II started with another nuke going off and a hord of dogs running over the hills toward you.
I am eagerly waiting the release of the sixth enstallment.

Those dogs are really annoying. They're easy to kill as long as they don't get on top of you. After that, no matter how many times you press (V), your throat gets ripped out. I just finished the game today (including the hidden "Mile High Club") mission, and I have to say it was amazing. While it doesn't have the all-engrossing oh-my-gosh that is simply brilliant and engaging story such as games like Half-Life, the amazing graphics and gameplay make up for it. I cannot wait until Modern Warfare 2 comes out. I am just worried that I won't be able to run it. My CPU could barely handle 4.

Its actually Brazil.
The one thing that is bothering me is it looks more comando-ish than cod4. Also I dont like the name roach.

Thanks for the correction. I think the fact that it is more "commando-ish" is cool. I think that anything to deal with Special Forces like Navy Seals and Delta Force is really cool. COD 4 was kind of "commando-ish" in the fact that it was really small squads dealing with more special-ops situations as oppose to the WWII games where it was you and 10 other guys just killing Germans.

I really like the COD series. I have played them all but only own 4 and 5. Personally I prefer 4 or 5 because of it's modern setting. COD 6/modern warfare 2 looks to be a very good sequel to 4. Aren't the SAS meant to be like the elite anyway so I can see why it has a commando feel.

sorry I was kinda mis-leading,(I problably shouldve said mercinaries,,,) I didnt mean like spec ops like Navy seals or Sas, Delta force. I meant that the SAS in Brazil were wairing jeans body armour and a t-shirt. I know it may be hot there but common, marines in Iraq still wair their full gear + uniform. also, I think a SAS troop was wairing a skull bandana over his mouth(which looked like a skelitlizied mouth.) those are my only complaits. btw they couldve been under cover too...

I really hope Navy Seals and Delta Force are in the game and maybe a level like black hawk down where you get trapped in a middle eastern country, while you have to save pilots of the downed blackhawk.

Yes, but the Marines in Iraq are on the front line and need to wear full gear. The Black Ops kind of stuff doesn't require full gear. By heart beat sensor do you mean the way the screen pulses red when you are hurt? That is to tell you that you need to find cover. I really love it. It is way better than a health bar and needing to find health packs all the time. While it isn't as realistic, it means you aren't going to die a bunch and you don't have to waste your time looking for health. It is a lot better than in COD and COD: UO with the health packs.

Just a quick question for those who have played COD 4. Does anybody know that the deal is with the laptop computers in each level that are "enemy intel"? Does collecting them get you anything special.?

I better get in on this.

Never got to play 1,2 or 3. Though I thought 3 looked great in a magazine.

4, its just too good. Love it. Really did kickstart my Lego Military interest (Conflict Vietnam practically founded it), and i'm glad for it. Anxiously awaiting Modern Warfare 2, but there is plenty of other stuff out before November.

5, not as good, but it has Zombies . Plus, I got Map Pack 2 today! Though I can't say if it was worth a tenner (I got it for free), I would definitely recommend it. The new Zombie map, Shi No Numa, is huge. Plus it comes with 3 or 4 Multiplayer maps.
The main reason I don't like Number 5, is that I think a lot of things in it are a bit too advanced for WW2. I may be referring to the multiplayer a bit, but sort of applies to the story. In a WW2 game, i'd rather have a struggling, gritty fight than lots of tech to make it easier for me. Just makes it seem more realistic. I know you can turn off HUD and radar and stuff, but something about it just seems further on than the 1940's.

For Xbox 360 it gets you achievements once you get a certain amount. It also gets you cheats that you can use, such as playing the game in a sepia tone with ragtime music among others.

No, sorry, in the Modern warfare 2 gamplay trailer, It looks like you have a video camera on your gun. It kinda works like UAV.(radar)
I really love the health regeneration, in my opinion, it makes games a lot better.
BTW sorry about being misleading again
