Hi guys

I was just wondering, which minifig would be the most expensive to buy to day... would it be the ones from the old spacesets, star wars, city or what.

Personally I think the star wars figures is the most expensive, I haven't seen anyone more expensive than a SW figure...

But I'm not that sure.

Any help... for the most expensive and sought after figures.

Chrome 3PO, I'm pretty sure. However, orginal MISP first minifigs would also be very valuable.

Unless you live in the US, then it would be spelled.    Chrome C3po is probably the most expensive regular minifig.

I remember a sterling silver C-3PO figure which is a single copy. It was given away in a raffle while San-Diego Comic-Con.

I thought there was also a copper one given out?

And as far as normal minifigs included in everyday sets, not exclusive figs, Watto and the Cloud City Boba Fett easily take the cake.

<snip>

Actually, no, that is the solid 14 carat C-3PO, which there were only 5 of.

The chrome gold one had 10,000 copies of the fig randomly sent out.

This guy is pretty expensive.
You can get him for around 400 USD on Bricklink right now.
That's a little overpriced. I had one that I got offered 150 USD for though.
I gave it to a great friend of mine... that's being friendly

Whats so special about him? I mean, why is this bloke so expensive?
And what makes a minifig expensive? (Not talking about chromies, goldies, or silvies)
I mean, some are very rare, only ever appeared in one set and look nice but are cheap as chips.
Please enlighten...

A plastic helmet is worth $400?

I think that the most expensive figure are those gold C-3POs.
For regular minifigs that can be found in sets, I think that Cloud City Boba Fett and Greedo are some of the most expensive.

EDIT: Fixed a typo...

And Watto.

I'm proud to say that I have Greedo, (did have two, now only one) Watto, and I'm about to buy an entire Cloud City set from a friend of mine, who is the one I traded my other Greedo to, and he also has a Watto. Luckily, he wants to sell his whole collection, mainly SW, and I'm in the market.    :vader:

Regarding the 14 carat C-3PO and the Maersk MiniFig,... I think C-3PO - Chrome Gold (SW 30th Anniversary Edition) is one of the expensived MiniFigs around at the moment.

Don't forget Jango Fett - unless his cost has come down... Never got in the hundreds, but he was still pretty hard to come by, and thus pretty expensive.

--> I understand you remark. And in this case is really for the helmet that you paid. But most of the time you pay because it's color or special accessories on the minifigure. And some parts concerning their size are way too overprized.

For example if you would buy a minifigure with white pigtails or one with old red knight visor or ...

--> Those are still "ok" if you see that you pay 25USD for a single hair piece like the white pigtails (the cheapest one).

A Cloud City printed Boba Fett is around $70.

Sounds like it'd be easier to just paint a red one, since it's worth almost $400 less

He doesn't seem to be worth $50, since there's a better version of him coming out in the Mon Calamari Cruiser

All of these are the main expensive ones, right?

Chrome Gold C-3PO
Greedo
Cloud City Boba Fett
Cloud City Lando
Watto
Jango Fett
Maersk Construction Worker

I know there are more, but I can't really think of them off the top of my head.

I found a few more while searching for the highest price of minifigs on BrickLink (most of these are $20+):

50 Year Anniversary Minifig
Classic - Knights Tournament Knight Black, Black Legs with Red Hips, Light Gray Helmet, Black Visor
The Joker
Geonosian With Wings
Princess Leia
Mace Windu, Non-Light-Up
Emperor Palpatine (Imperial Inspection)
Ninja - Green Princess
Princess Leia (Cloud City)
Chancellor Palpatine
Luminara Unduli with Light-Up Lightsaber Complete Assembly
Killer Croc
Senate Commando
Jabba the Hutt (Complete Assembly)

More here:
http://www.bricklink...mp;searchSort=B

EDIT: I'll add some expensive used minifigs later.

Old/used minifigs:
Overalls Gray on Orange with Pocket, Gray Legs, White Cap - Glued
Maersk - White Torso (Sticker), Lt Gray Legs, Maersk Blue Cap
Plain Black Torso with Black Arms, Black Legs, Yellow Construction Helmet, Yellow Vest
Patron - Town Square (from 1592)

There are a lot more here, but I'm too lazy to post them up.
