I wanted something to do between my Hogwarts project that didn't used any of my tan pieces. That's a hard one, because I really like to use tan pieces in my buildings. To stay in the Harry Potter universum I thought I'd give The Burrow a try, the home of the Weasleys (and Harry's second real home after Hogwarts). I have worked on it yesterday and this morning I added the details and greenery. This afternoon I took the pictures and I've just finished the editting of the background. It was fun to make, I think the result is good. I hope it's recognazible to the Harry Potter fans!

Very cool! I think you have represented the home of the Weasley family quite well! I like how it looks kinda 'patched together' just as it is described in the books. Great work!

That is freaking asssome Matt!   WOWZERS!

It looks so neat and tidily built! Well done! There is so many interpretations of the Weasley's burrow, but that is just spectacular.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I really appreciate it! Woah, Cutlass_Iz, you're making me blush  .
Oh, and I'll probably add an interior soon, but we'll see about that.

This really is a very very lovely MOC! It looks very LEGO like. Looks like it could come straight out of the LEGO factory! The only thing I have doubts about is the size. There live 7 people in that house, and it doesn't look like there would be able to fit 7 people in there. But on the other hand they did say in the books that it was a very crowded and had very small rooms. So I guess the size is alright.

Very nice. It looks really like in the movie, although you could see the house only 2 seconds.
Has it also an inside or is it more stabilezed inside.

Thanks guys.

The inside has a few bricks stacked on eachother so the upper part can't fall over, but I am considering an interior (because the upper part is pretty stabilized, it rests against the roof), I'll see about that interior. I'm not sure if I will decorate the upper parts from the inside, but I will make the ground floor for sure. :classic:

And I've been blogged on The Brothers Brick with this, and with everyone's positive comments, that just makes my day.

You have done well. The Force is strong with you.

Haha, you have certainly captured every little possible detail, Matn. Nice work!
I'm back, but I'm not. Sort of, but kind of... Sooo... I kind of am back. ;)

Thanks Striker. Oh, and in the Harry Potter series it is 'love' that has to be strong with you.

By the way,... how is it on Belug (still visiting it)???
For me it's been some time that I visit the forum.

Very nice indeed, I like it a lot. I like how you've acheived the look without a gigantic scene or very intricately arranged building using heaps of SNOT etc., but rather clever arrangement of "ordinary rooms" using nice details and decoration.

Did you build from a plan or drawing? I find it hard to acheive such a clean look when I just make it up as I go along.

Great work!

Thanks!

Capt. Kirk: it's rather quiet on the BeLUG forum. Well... Hm, but I see now that the nice clubdays make it up for that. But maybe it would be nicer to get more comments on the BeLUG forum also, because those people have more influence on you than on forums on which you don't know each other.

brickzone: I was going to use different techniques, like SNOT, but I guessed a simple look works better for the Burrow. Glad you see that also! I started it with my imagination (using the information in the books: build on a stone house), and I also looked to a picture of the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It can be seen as my "blueprint". (:
