Interesting. This must be 8059 Sand Cutter. default_satisfied.gif Thanks for posting!
Judging from that image, this theme looks like a combo of underwater Bionicle sets and Power Miners. default_wacko.gif Not sure if I'm liking it. I'll have to see the other sets to make a judgment. One thing is for sure tho: that trident is sweet! default_thumbup.gif

I just found this:

No! That was certainly not what I wanted! default_sad.gif
I can of course hope that it's fake but I don't think so. It looks very real... like some sort of underwater Power Miners.

Well, at least this is good for my wallet default_tong.gif

Looks like the world is full of unbelievers...
Well, that's an Italian site; a publisher, one their titles being ToyStore (a preview can be found here).
News reads: "The new line will be supported by a massive tv campaign and a dedicated website"

Registering to their site requires full user name, address, and workplace data, so I'm not telling them the story of my life just to get a few more words about Lego Atlantis.

Other Lego news they have:
- Three TV Christmas Campagins (Police, Farm, Construction).
- Third edition for the Retailer's catalogue, including Star Wars' Death Star and two Technic products).
- Lego Italy has a new marketing manager.

THe good news is you can browse their image directory here ; the bad news is you're not gonna find bigger images.

I'm just wondering what demographic is TLG trying to cater with a theme that combines Bionicle-type figures to Power Miners-type vehicles? I thought the little ADHD boys had enough action-packed themes as it is... default_sceptic.gif

@ Svelte, yep, and that's the only nice thing so far about this theme
@ Sandy: I have to guess they aim to "child whose parents will spend money on these"; Atalantis hardly looks as an AFOL oriented theme so far.

But I don't understand their logic: Bionicle is going to continue, Power Miners is getting new sets, so how the heck do they think they can sell a combination of these two to the same demographic of kids as well?

The way the new BIONICLE sets are named seems to infer BIONICLE will not continue, but that's probably me being pessimistic. default_sceptic.gif

However, currently LEGO has always had similar action themes going at the same time, such as Agents 2.0, Power Miners and Space Police 3, so it's not really a surprise that there will be another action theme being Atlantis, which is probably replacing Agents 2.0.

In the Atlantis set though I like the pieces in it, but the overall thing seems like a Exo-force/Power Minerized Aqua Raiders theme.

Maybe we should wait to see more than just a thumbnail of one set before we condemn a line we knew nothing about 24 hours ago. default_classic.gif I realize that's not how some AFOLs are wired, but still. default_tong.gif

It seems like a theme replacing Power Miners (maybe their current wave of products is last). It has flashy and bright colors and a box that will probably be very appealing to kids - red, blue, neon green, gold/yellow. We should see all images of the sets before making any decisions. The only thing that I don't like so far are the big plastic wheels and saws from which I have enough ...

That Atlantis theme sounds interesting. Perhaps we will get some nice ancient buildings out of it (probably not, sounds like another vehicle oriented theme default_tong.gif )

Did anyone notice the blue creature with the trident on the right? No doubt this is going to be another Mars Mission/Power Miners type theme, where humans invade the creatures homes and steal their crap (probably crystals again) yet the creatures are made out to be the bad guys. Remember that controversial thread from a couple months ago? default_laugh_new.gif
