Marvel system sets are finally on shop at home. Prices are:

Captain America: $25
Wolverine: $50
Loki's cube: $50
Hulk: $100
Quinjet: $130
How about the same prices at TRU Tea Tree Plaza.......scored myself the X-men set......didn't mind the price since I won some money at the pub.

Very little chance it will be here for the mid-year sales. I'd say grab it at shop at home and you'll also get VIP points and the free chrome minifig which would have to be worth $20+* on the market after the promo finishes. And you won't have to wiat months to get it from another source.

*this is not a guarantee and I will not be held repsonsible for terrible financial advice

Lol yes this was sort of my reasoning too, only I was considering using my VIP points on it as I've been waiting to use them on an exclusive, but it may be smarter to earn the points on that set too then redeem them all for something closer to the full point value... Whatever that set will be (?Modular Haunted House) - this is how they suck you in I suppose! Bummer you can't use your points and still earn points on the remainder of the order.... :-/

Can anyone remember if TLG have free shipping more than once a year?

Does anyone know who is slated to stock the UCS R2-D2 here in Aus?

I'm a bit tempted to buy it from S@H during the May 4th sale as they've priced it at that tricky differential again: $249 Aud compared to $180 USD.

Won't end up saving much from ordering via Bricklink (maybe $30) and who knows how long you might wait until it's up at Amazon, and then it's no guarantee...

Hmm thoughts anyone?

Not to be too cheeky - I'm off to the UK next week and I reckon I might grab one as my splurge :) Price is a touch cheaper in conversion.

I didn't know you can't get points on an order if you've used some previous ones on that order. That sucks.
From memory, last year there was just the one occasion with free shipping and that was the same promo as this year's. Although that was once more than most years.

Also for May 4 toys r us have a promo where if you spend $100 on SW lego you get a clone trooper battle pack. I assume it's one per order, so not exactly a great saving.

Yep, you can't earn points for a transaction where you're also redeeming points, dangnammit!

Might have to bite the bullet and order tomorrow then. Geez, that's two orders from S@H in the last two months now - curse TLG and their savvy pricing! And me for my inability to wait six months for a set to be stocked locally and discounted. Who knows though, could be a Big W exclusive and never stocked at a decent discount like the Imperial Shuttle or Obi Wan UCS sets.

Oh well, think I'll just do it and add it to the massive pile of unbuilt sets (12 months worth) I have waiting until I finish my specialist exams in three weeks.

Distorme, I think I'm more jealous of the trip itself than the Lego discount :P

Understandable - got tickets to Legoland and are staying for 5 days in Brighton with friends. A few days to the Pick a Brick wall me thinks.

Sorry… back on topic :P

I've placed my order already, so here in Sydney it's ticked over. I can confirm that you do not need any Star Wars to have the 2 free items and free shipping added to the cart. $100 spend is the only requirement.

May the Fourth be with you!

Yeah, I just checked; the orders work as promised, but the promo page is still behind.

S@H has the 10212 Imperial Shuttle for $359.99 and the 10221 Super Star Destroyer for $559.99 for those interested

And for those ordering, you do not have to spend $100 on Star Wars to get the TC-14 minifig and free standard shipping.
I just tested it, had a mini modular set and a Watto keyring in my cart and it gave me the free shipping and minifig. Not bad for $6.99!
Just a heads up!

OK - I buckled - got the Dynamic Due Funhouse Escape ($10 <TRU standard rip-off price) and a cheap Dino set for the older son to make up the $100. Spent a few VIP points to get the price down and TC-14 can go on Ebay to help make the deal even sweeter.

I told a lie, you can still get VIP points on the remainder of your order value.

Pity I can't actually get my order to go through! Arrrghharrrrrgh! (and yes, that is the correct Oxford English spelling of that word)

Great work for those who did the test and got the promo fig, I wanted the UCS R2D2 set anyways so locked it up the moment the clock hit 12am, wonder if you will get 2 figs because the set cost is twice the minimum requirements?

Big W Bendigo in Victoria has series 7 minifigs. I picked up about 8 of them this morning.

Looks like I ought to hit some Big W stores then if that's where S7 is available :)
Anyone know what price Big W is charging for them?

Nah you just get the one minifig sorry Brickmamba!

After trying all day to get the website to work I called the UK and put my R2 order through over the phone.

I'm really looking forward to motorizing him!

I was going to purchase this after I saw your post, until I saw that is 39.99 US, or 89.99 Australian at S@H.
The set looks nice but I'm not buying it on principle. That is a horrendous mark up.

UCS R2 is out of stock for a few weeks. Not suprising at all.

I decided to go for a Mini Modulars set for $99 and throw in a keychain to get the free shipping and other items.

Wow really surprised R2 sold out in a day, wonder how many they actually had available, can't have been many?

It's a new release, and a Star Wars promo would have attracted many Star Wars fans who are not necessarily into Lego either.
Either way, I am glad I ordered mine at 4am or whatever ridiculous hour it was this morning.

Yes, I did two orders;

Lithium battery pack + charger = TC-14 & R2 Poster & TIE
Two avengers sets and a Star Wars Magnet set = TC-14 & R2 Poster & TIE (The promos were added before the magnet!)

For Australians at least it seems to just be a value thing.
