First of all, let me admit I built this a while ago, so some of you may have already seen it.  I decided to post it for a few reasons.  First of all, I really like the Mars Mission color scheme, and would love to see people build more in the theme.  Secondly, I like the idea of building Alternate models, as the parts restrictions for you to come up with some creative solutions.  I know it could be a lot better if I didn't limit myself on parts, but I think it came out alright.  Also, I think the pinned Mars Mission Index needs some more action.   :classic:  Let me know what you think!

P.S...I suppose it's not a true alternate, because I did add an additional minifig...

Wow, you have some nice stuff in there.

This is a wonderful rebuild. The greebles and the missile-launching mode folding are great.

True happiness: looking inside the box to see a perfectly flat instruction manual.

The alt models looks more better than the orignal in my opnion. It looks more in-depth with precise details as a roaming tank in space. And i love the additonal crew behind backing the driver up, acting as a weapon specialist.  :classic: In addition, the missiles mode is awesome!

Very creative and cool looking, and the cannon mounting´s pretty smart as well!  :classic:

If you post bigger, more instructive pictures, I will buy another 7697 to build it.

Nice, I didn't know that something like that can be built.
Good job.

This is much better than the original and probably one of the best alternates I've ever seen.

This is really neat, yet somehow I missed it earlier, but never mind. It looks really cool, and the fact that it's 'limited' by being an alt model makes it even better. Those orange tracks look really nice...
Yep, I'm back! Be afraid...
