Hey, Jim! Whasup?
I can still not decide if I should join. It sounds so much like fun!   Can you please help me decide by answering these questions: When is this going to start and how long is the first chapter gonna go? When will the next chapter begin? And what is the minimum amount of posts required per week?

Cool background story btw, Jim! So you're like a force sensitive SW version of Batman? Sweet!

Oky Wan, I think your supposed to post as much as possible though even I can only post once in a while since there has to be a picture. I'm sure a lot of other people will also only be able to post once in a while. JimButcher you should PM a mod to make sure that they are okay with this game, also how will we classify if a MOC is starwarsish, like could I say this-
is Starwarsish, because if I can use some already made MOCs I could post a lot faster (others would also be able to post more). I don't really want to make several MOCs just for this game, as I don't have the time to do so .  Also what sets could we use, since almost all Starwars lego sets are from episode one or after, while this comic game takes place before. Sorry for all the questions .

alright guys, i got this. lol, force sensitive batman   anyways, you would need to post once a week or more, or when someone is communicating with you. for example, lets say i was shooting you, oky (in ther game, lol) you would have to reply ASAP. and the first chapter is just beginnings for everyone, and everyone will probably be separate. you could do anything you wanted to start your (part of the) story. it will last untill most of the characters are encountered with others. i dont know how long it will take though... its going to start May 1st.

mack, you can use sets from ep1, and moded sets from future episodes. also SW based customs, like the one you showed us would work. and i will PM a mod or admin soon if one doesnt say anything.

I just have a couple more questions: Does our character have to be our sigfig? Mine doesn't look very Starwarsish (it's not my avatar, it's the one I used for the EB Neighbourhood Contest). If yes, can we at least "dress" them in SW "cloths"?

Also, I was wondering if there is any cheap way of interplanetary travel in the SW universe. I mean if you are an average guy on coruscant and don't have the money to hire a smuggler to fly you and don't have your own ship either like all the main characters in the PT seem to have , what do you do?

And, just out of curiosity, would it be alowed to post a stop-motion film instead of pics once in a while?

great, oky wan! no, your character does not have to be your sigfig. and yes there is a cheap way for space travel...public transport. like the one anikin and padme go on in ep 2. sure, a stop motion vid would be okay once in a while, but not all the time.

Thanks, Jim! Now, how long before Ep.1 does this game take place again? 20 Years? So, that's like 52 BBY, right? (Before the Battle of Yavin)

Sorry, I know it's just a game, but I like being accurate, so I'm doing some research right now.

Oh, and can we have a droid sidekick? That would be cool!

My character:

Meet Oky Wan Kenobi (again)! He lives on Coruscant and is an independent droid and starship designer. When he was young he was working for Baktoid Combat Automata to help them design the B1 battle droid that the Trade Federation requested. At that time, he had no idea that it would cause thousands of deaths throughout the galaxy. Now he feels guilty because he thinks that he was partly responsible for the Clone Wars and would do anything to support the Republic!

Oky Wan is a little force sensitive which makes him a great pilot, even though he doesn't have nearly as many midi-chlorians as his cousin Obi Wan. He is quite jealous of his cousin since Obi Wan has become everything he always wanted to be: A jedi (a very respected one) who travels the galaxy leading troops into the battle against the seperatists.

His favorite color is green and his favorite sport is podracing, even though this sport is slowly dying these days. Ever since he heard about the young boy called Anakin Skywalker who was the first human to win the Boonta Eve Classic, his secret dream has been to become the next human podracing champion with a homemade pod. Also, after he heard that Skywalker has become a jedi and is now fighting alongside his cousin, Skywalker is now Oky Wan's idol. Although he is pretty proud to be related to someone who knows Skywalker that well, Oky Wan's jealousy of his cousin is now stronger than ever...

Usually, Oky Wan is very friendly, though, and he always carries a tool kit with him. His excellent technical and mechanical skill enable him to make a completely functional starfighter out of the smallest pile of junk.   

Also, Oky Wan has a big appetite!


There you have it! My sigfig as a character complete with strengths and weaknesses who is directly connected to the  SW universe of the CW era in many ways! I hope you like it!

Mack, i dont think i should PM a mod (i might be a bother)... theres no way one could have skipped their eyes over this for so long, but if you would feel comfortable with it, i will PM vader. again, to mods and admins, not tryng to be a bother

Well, how many are already participating? I know you are, Mack, and JimButcher, too, of course, but who else is there, and how many do we still need?

Ok so after reading this thread i have a few comments to share with you:

Firstly i'm still alittle unsure how you intend to keep the thread going. Asking people to create moc's to advance a story will be really time consuming, great if you can pull it off but i think your going to struggle. That's one of the reasons why we have never tried it in the tie army, i would suggest a mixture of pics and story.

I see you intend to have the story set before ep1? If so i suggest you all really research that time period, little is really known about the events befoe ep 1. Working between eps 3-4 is hard at times for us and yet theirs alot more info about that time then the one you intend to use.

Jim do you intend to lead this thread? If so then you will really have to be dedicated to it, i would suggest setting up some sort of rank system to make life easier on all involved. I'm very lucky to have great members in the tie thread who are more than capable of looking after the thread when i'm not around. I can't stress how important that is.

Finally i have no objection to you trying this, though i do think you all might find it a struggle.... I hope i'm wrong on that one.

thanks very much for those words of wisdom, vader, they are much appreciated! youve actually changed my mind a bit; i think it would be easier to not do all mocs and pics, so if the members who are already in and those who plan to join agree, i will change it so maybe only the action scenes should have pics or something like that. as for me leading...well, like i said, there are no main characters in the story, but if your talking about organizing and stuff, i will do that. as you may have noticed, im on EB quite alot. (about 1-2 hours a day). but if i cant do it all by myself, i guess i would need some backup, someone whos on alot, and is a more experienced member... im not sure though right now, as there isnt many people joining right now, and only two excluding me are for sure in. (mack and oky wan kenobi). and i know some things about pre-ep 1, from Ryder Windham's Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide.  so, thank you again, vader

I think Vader has a point, there isn't that much infomation on pre-episode one what if this was just based in the Clone Wars, since there will be more infomation, and there are lots of Lego sets from the Clone Wars.
Also Jim, if no one else wants to I can act as a backup, as I visit eurobricks often, and will try to post as much as I can .

Yeah, as I said, Clone Wars would indeed be a much better setting! I believe, it would attract more players as well! That would mean that I'd have to do my research all over again. Oh well. I like that kinda stuff! So, what do you say, Jim?

OK, so I've been researching a bit now, and I think it might be good to set this game at a certain point during the Clone Wars. The war went from 22 BBY to 19 BBY, and I would suggest that we set our game around 20 BBY as this was in the middle of the war and because this was the time where the clones started switching from Phase 1 to Phase 2 armor, which means that both types of clones can be used in the game and that players who only own one type of clone trooper  are not left out! (Most of us, I bet, only have Phase 2 guys, though, thanks to the BPs! )
So, what do you say?

PS: I would like to link the image below to this topic, but I don't know how to assign a link to an image. Can somebody please tell me how? Btw, what do you think of that ad?

Alright Clone Wars, I hope this can liven the game up a bit (now I wish I hadn't taken apart my Starwars collection ). Good job on the poster Oky Wan. Jim will you be making a seperate thread for the actual game to start? I s'pose this game should have two different sides with some players playing as sepratists, and some players acting on the Republic's behalf. My character will remain the same (and will be on the Republics side). As Vader said it probably would be a good idea to have some sort of ranking system. I better go do some research on the Clone Wars.

Well, I've been thinking about this and I think it will be tough to play as seperatists since the army consists only of droids. But there are some planets of course that help the seperatists, like the Geonosians or the Bankers Clan, and also some occasionally hired bounty hunters.

Now that sounds plausible! In fact, ALL the good guys in this game will probably be something like that since the "the Clone Army" as you call it was comprised of only... well... clones! Except for JimButcher - He will be just "Batjedi", the Dark Jedi Knight! LOL, just kiddin'!
