A randoum thought can leed to a thousand ideays.  A simmpel image, commercial, TV show, or movie can be the spark that starts a projeckt.  All I need is that one thang that gets my over active immagination going and thers no stopping it.

I used to live near Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown, so this period is very familiar to me and building stuff like this is *nostalgic*. Besides it's just fun and different than town and space all the time.

There is a Ravensburger pirate puzzle that I got when I was a kid and it shows a gorgeous picture of a pirate frigate anchored in a bay next to a tropical island and several pirates rowing against the surf to bury treasure on the island.  That picture will always stay with me.  also some of Lego's advertising in the old catalogs has also fueled my Lego Pirate hobby. :pir-classic:

I have been inspired by many things, but what inspired me the most was Master and Commander: the far side of the world
which i am watching right now for the 50th time. :pir-wub:
