RabbiT_CZ Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Hi all, I would like to present you my latest MOC. It is a wheeled excavator based on the Liebherr 900C. The goal was to made it remote controlled by using the SBrick and with manual pneumatics system. I started with a blueprint of the Liebherr 900C and made a rough model in the LDCad. The final model is in scale of approximately 1:16.7. The wheeled undercarriage is 33 studs long and 19 studs wide. There are 4 remote controlled functions. These are using 4 motors - 3 L motors and 1 M motor. L motor - rear wheel drive, front wheel steering, air pump M motor - platform rotation All motors are in the rotated platform. The drive and steering goes through the turntable by using the clutch gear for two coaxial functions. Thus the platform can be rotated in 360 degrees without limitations. (The only downside is that during rotation of the platform it is slowly moving and steering.) The boom has three manual functions and it is composed form two parts plus bucket. There are two large pneumatic cylinders, one long cylinder and one small. All pneumatics are controlled by switches behind the cabin. The last manual function is extension of rear outriggers. It is done by a small knob in the rear part. Outriggers are extended by small linear actuators. I will also try to make my first video :-) Pneumatic hoses + SBrick + battery pack. Motors are bellow the pneumatics and the SBrick All photos Quote
Imanol BB Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 It seems like a good partner for the 42053, it looks fantastic. Quote
Rishab N Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Great work! You did a good job routing the hoses neatly Quote
Beck Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 This is basically what I wished the new Volvo EW160E would be like. Great work! Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 That tubing is superb! Clean and controlled, unlike LEGO's Volvo. Good job! Quote
Nikolay Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 How cool it! Very compact and functional! Gently and lovely. Quote
Boulderer Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Another "Hurrah!" for the pneumatic hose routing ... incredibly neat Quote
RabbiT_CZ Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 (edited) Thank you. The tubing still can be improved. I was limited by hoses I have from my only pneumatic set - the 42043. And of course I didn't want to cut some of them. So inside it is pretty stuffed. Also I had to use one gray hose for one of the large cylinders, which is not perfect. Agree that the Volvo tubing can be much better, but otherwise it will be good source of pneumatic for MOCs. Edited July 26, 2016 by RabbiT_CZ Quote
