Gunman Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) Heyyy there guys, I am back with my friend Rambi who is here to review another Nexo knights set, 70314 Beast Master's Chaos Chariot When I first saw this set, I instantly said, hey I must buy this The big circle molds with the evel faces caught my attention. After that I saw the armory of the heroine and it was a sure buy... Although the whole set has a sci-fi style that I dont like to be honest, I was going to buy the set just for the parts of it, so it wasnt a problem for me. Theme: Nexo Knights Set: Beast Master's Chaos Chariot 70314 Parts: 303 Figures: 2 Cost: €32.99 Shop@Home (DE) , £24.99 Shop@Home (UK) , $29.99 Shop@Home (US) , Bricklink The Box: Box art is pretty amazing, having a sci-fi style here makes it look pretty cool. At the back of the box, a play function of the set is illustrated. If you turn around that knob there, the two monsters open and close their mouths. Pretty funny and clever idea from the designer. Lets get into the box to see whats in there...! Contents of the Set: As you can see, there are two bags with parts, a sheet with stickers and two instructions books. Stickers of the Set (the joker one is cool): Some pages from the Instructions Book: All the current sets of Nexo knights line are illustrated here forming a great battlefield! All the heroes and the bad guys are also illustrated in the booklet. Some armor parts of the bad guys are pretty interesting. Let's start... Thank god I took a clark with me... Part One, pieces: Pieces that caught my attention (helmet pieces are awesome): The "square cheese slopes" are pretty useful for use in MOCs as building decorations. The shields can be used as decor in castle/throne rooms while the tail and facet are pretty useful for medieval warrior building. And here is our heroine... The printings is a bit too sci-fi for my taste I can say.. The damaged face makes the head pretty useful because its not usual. Here... get your helmet BadassSsSSsss The metal looking armor is pretty interesting, and makes the whole look of our warrior, less sci-fi looking. The two studs at the back side of the chest, give us the ability to attach whatever we think of, imagination is our limit. Here... get your weapon... So much win here... What's that thing now...? ArghghggHhGH I must say that the bad guy here, didnt impress me at all. The only think I like from him is the chest and the two "evil bubbles" Let's get on with the instructions... man... this looks like my crypton-x... here come the lights and the... bliaaaaaahh... stickers... I with there were printed parts instead stickers... moto is done! ready for a ride...! The moto has a horse like design, and I really like the "joysticks" design there. Let's go on... Ouffff.... Man... the exhaust is pretty damn hot.... The fire parts used in the Nexo line series is pretty awesome, the transaction from red to yellow is pretty smooth. I really like those molds. First Part of the construction is finished! Relax.... Second Bag contents: Pieces that caught my attention. Those lava slope pieces, are pretty awesome if you have them in big quantity, very useful for landscaping. The big, black circle radar pieces are pretty neat too.... Very useful pieces for mocing. The dark brown slopes there are pretty unusual and useful mold at the same time! How do I put this up there... damn... What a strange colored part here... funny :) Arghh... my body hurts... The design of the two "monsters" is really well done and I really like the play function they have using the gold chains and by turning that knob there. Brand new... Shiny Bricksssss! Are you looking at me...? Thank god, those faces are printed and not stickers... The second half of the construction is finished! Check out the interesting way in which the "red beasts" open their mouths. I hope you liked my photo review guys, cya later alligator..! Spare Parts: Critique: An average set taking account of its price and parts. Some parts are really interesting. Design: 8/10 Nothing too great to admire but I really liked the great way in which the red "beasts" open their mouth. Price/Pieces: 8/10 Medium price for its parts. Minifigures: 8/10 One of the reasons I got attracted by this set was Macy. Her armor pieces are in flat silver and are very cool looking and useful! On the other side Beast Master is not for my taste... His printings are pretty simple and he hasnt any armor pieces of interest. Playability: 9/10 Above average playability with funny functions. Construction: 9/10 Simple and interesting building procedure. Total: 8/10 An average set with some interesting parts I could say. Not bad at all Edited May 20, 2016 by Gunman Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I got this set about 2.5 months ago... I parted it out pretty quick. Not very interesting design... I only actually like Macy and her hover-horse. Built a submersible/speedboat-type thing out of this set. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Nice parts but weak design and the bad guy is the weakest one they made. It looks like he is drunk on lavapotions all the time :D Thanks for nice review! Quote
Thomas_w Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 This set is crazy, its like a weird fantasy evil demon podracer . This was a really good review, but I would pass on the set because its just not my thing and I can't see myself using some of the parts for anything else (the giant red ball heads for example). I think as a child I would have loved it. I do really like that they bought back the "serf cowl" piece, any set with that in it is worth something in my book. Quote
